WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
F*****g Koreans! They spoilt the World Cup for all us TRUE football fans! Dammit, if it was'nt for them we'd have had a better World Cup final (possibly between Brazil and Spain!!)
Spain -- I'm afraid to say, but it has to be said -- were robbed by incompetent refereeing! They were disallowed two legitimate goals!
OK, Korea deserved to go through against Italy but damn Spain were robbed.
In case you're wondering I am an Asian male but also I am an OBJECTIVE and TRUE football fan; rather than someone who just rolls on the bandwagon!

well, I've been hollaring for the last two years: Yao Ming is going to be the number 1 pick someday. Well, that day has come, and my acclaim for the Shanghai brotha has finally payed off. So hah, to all of you doubters, I was right all along.
There will now be three Chinese players in the NBA. This makes the total number of Asians in the league a miraculous total of three players. hahaha, that's funny...

The only reason Yao Ming looks good is b/c he's been playing against tiny players in China. He's no match against Shaq. He's overrated. And if he turns out to be another Tim Duncan, well then he's definitely not going to be very impressive. Tim has self-esteem issues. He gives up too soon.
Go Lakers!

With Yao being the spotlight of the NBA, it is likely that Asia is the next breeding ground of big men to play in the NBA. It is said that China has the most 7 footers than any other leagues
in the world. And with the shortage of centers in the NBA, it is only natural for them to make such moves, considering that the Asian game has been compared to the same caliber as the NCAA. On top of that, these men have passion for the game, unlike many college or high player who's only concern is to dunk and show off. If you see college games, it would become obvious that the passion for the game in America has diminished and quickly grew elsewhere around the globe, not just in Asia, but the European countries and African countries as well. Just ask well-known experts. They would agree. And don't be surprised when a point guard from Asia emerges some time soon.
I recently learned about a 6-1 chinese point guard named (Qingpeng Zhang)who some say has great skills. Oh, yeah. There are also talks about the Philippines as the next breeding ground for the next Asian player. An expert quoted that Filipinos have a strong passion for the game, following the NBA rule book by law and by law. I had the pleasure to watch Mengke Bateer in T.V. Boy! That boy is strong! Other three hundred pounders bumped into him and ended up getting toasted. The NBA would not say how much he bench presses, but people have obviously seen how strong he is, including the announcers who always qoute the "Great Wall of Bateer" everytime someone gets pushed back to the other side of the court. He even started for the Nuggets on some occasions, when he got used to NBA rules because CBA rules are not the same as the NBA'S. The coach had obviously seen his great potential, only playing for 26 games last season due to late entry in the NBA.
When there are lack of big men, obviously the NBA will be looking for them around globe. And what's a better place to look for talented big men than a place where seven footers are the great center of attention.
By the way, although Wang is listed as a Center, he makes an excellent power forward. His strenght needs to be improved, but he has the potential to be a great NBA power forward, in my opinion. He just needs more time on the court, which is maybe why he is thinking of moving in another team who likely needs offensive fire power. There is one thing that I'd like to see from him more. It's his dunks. He's already shown he could dunk and shoot with authority, but I would really like to see him do more of that.
Looking around, I just learned about Zhengdong Tang who I read has great skills as well for a guy weighing 270 pounds. He can shoot, dribble, and pass, especially on the low post, which are contributed by his strength. Then I was directed to this site, discovering another name, Xue Yuyang.
Part of the reason, in my obsevations that contributed to all these improvement and dedication is the improvement of the Asian game. Asian people just recently got interested in sports a short time ago with the exception of soccer of course. I don't mean that they never were, but it is obvious when the CBA was formed five to six years ago, the Chinese people had enough confidence to take such gamble in spending millions. After a brief time, Wang Zhizhi emerged then Mengke Bateer, then Yao Ming. And other talents are sure to come. By the way, it is too bad the "Michael" Ri Myong Hun who named himself after the great Michael Jordan will not be allowed to
play in the NBA. If allowed, he would be the tallest man to have ever joined the NBA. And did you know that Ri Myong Hun is listed as the tallest living man in the Genuis World of Record? If it were not for his diplomatic troubles, he would have easily been the first Asian NBA player; half of a dozen NBA teams were interested.
All I could say is "Go Wang, go Mengke, and go Yao! Yao! Yao!"

That Zhang guy is he one joke or what? Dammit he is just a crap basketball player. I only hope that Yao is a better basketball player than that joke of a player -- Zhang!
