WHAT YOU SAY

The NFL season's almost here again and I wondered last year if the talented Dat Nguyen could make the Pro Bowl someday, with a better supporting cast and some monster numbers at linebacker. Well this past offseason Dallas significantly upgraded their defensive personnel at multiple positions with the acquisitions of La'Roi Glover, Roy Williams, Kevin Hardy, and Bryant Westbrook. This might just be the year. Don't be suprised if Dat is at Hawaii at the end of the season.

Ath,

"Chinese people reinforce negative images in my opinion. Japanese seem to assimilate better."

Funny how most of the Japanese foreign exchange student at univeristies are short, geeky, and dorky looking.

I once saw this Japanese tourist in Hawaii who took off his shoes and socks while sitting with both of his legs crossed together on the chair in a restaurant while everyone else has to smell his nasty feet. Talk about eating like a barbarian!

So many people are degrading Michael Chang, not to mention Chinese in general. Well then what have YOU people done to represent for the Asian American community??? If you all think you're bunch of bad asses then why don't you go out and make a name for yourself in the dominantly white, American media.

Jed,

"Asian Americans don't have too many accomplishments in sports. Its mostly been Asians from Asia. Why is that?"

Could it be that Asian Americans number around 10 million in America (4% of American population), while there are about 2 billion Asians overseas in East Asia and Southeast Asia?

Any of you think Ichiro will be unargueably the best player in baseball if he hits 30 homeruns along with all the hits, stolen bases and high average he has? I heard (and I also think) Ichiro can hit homers.

thrill, what a dildo, man, lol. Could you be a little more China biased. It's so damn typ;ical of that holier than thou Chinaman attitude. Pointless to ask em to be objective, it's that cunning quality, inherent. "china definitely has the best athletes...just look at (t)he olympic medal we win..." If that was the case...considering, Chinas gigantic population, China must be consistently at the top of the medals count at every olympics that they take part, right? That's far from reality, even with that gigantic, disproportionate population they bare top tiny Korea. What sports we talking about...ping pong, gynmastics, platform diving?? Get serious. Without getting all into China vs. asia, world, this, that...If you'd get real for a second, proportionately, Korea has the best athletes pound for pound. Results man, so obvious.

Thrill
Don't embarrass your coutrymen further, I personally don't have anything against the Chinese but let me educate you. Let's be objective for once, ok?
China should have the best athletes in the world since there are over ONE BILLION of you BUT you are not. Actually, you are underachievers when compared to Coreans or Japanese in terms of "per capita" medals won in the Olympics. Do you follow so far?
Maybe China in recent years has won more than Corea or Japan but NOT BY MUCH even when China has 12X more people than Corea or 7X more people than Japan. I can't think of any sports the Chinsese are really good at besides table tennis? Surely not soccer, basketball or baseball. I doubt any of these Chinese basketball players are going to make a big impact in the NBA, I hope they'll prove me wrong.
Although Ichiro, Chanho Park, Suzuki, aren't Asian Americans they promote a very positive image for Asian American men.

Yeah you!    Thursday, July 11, 2002 at 18:49:02 (PDT)
