Please be more specific, you mean you are Japanese or Korean? If not I though you are from Guam, the local ones! You think you look more Chinese because you get less sun? That is baloney! Go to Singapore, located right on the equator, and see for yourself, people over there enjoy full of sunshine and they are much more Chinese than your Japanese or Korean. Go to China towns in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York and find out for yourself: who are doing business side by side with the Chinese? I don’t see any East Asian people like Japanese or Korean. Go to little Saigon, Vietnamese town in Santa Ana, California and see many Chinese doing business side by side with Vietnamese. Indeed, Chinese characters are in every corner of little Saigon. I don’t see any East Asian people in little Saigon except Chinese. Go to any Vietnamese restaurants or stores in California, you will see Chinese “God of Fortune” and other Chinese Gods such as Quan Cong, Quan Am that the Vietnamese workship. I don’t see that in Japanese or Korean restaurants, stores. Go to a nice Chinese restaurant on Saturday nights in California, very often, I bump into a Vietnamese wedding. Can you tell me why?

Last year my family and I went to a beautiful Chinese Buddhist Temple in north LA, all I saw are Chinese and Vietnamese. I wonder where East Asian people are! They are missing!

By trying to say something non-sense like Chinese, Japanese, Korean seem to be harder worker is insulting! You think young Japanese, Koreans don’t do drug? Give me a break. Like Chinese, Vietnamese are hard working people, too. Please look at a broader picture not just your school playground. You don’t know jack about Chinese and Vietnamese cultures. They have a lot of things in common. Do you still celebrate Chinese New Year, Mid Autumn Festival? Vietnamese people do and they call Tet and Trung Thu. Many Vietnamese look like southern Chinese because of the fact is most Vietnamese ancestors migrated to Vietnam were from Canton province, Southern China. I don’t mean that Vietnamese are more Chinese and are better, but we have to admit the facts that Vietnamese are the people who are influenced heavily by Chinese more than any body else including East Asian people. For your information, China ruled Vietnam more than one thousand years. What country did China rule longer than Vietnam in history, can you name?

No more than the difference between Chinese and Japanese/korean. Being a Chinese, I feel closer to Vietnamese, while Japanese/korean are more related to Mongolians and other Altaic groups.

I don't think so. As I said, they resemble Mongolians instead of Chinese. In fact, there is a huge difference between Chinese and Japanese/Korean, physically speaking.

I agree with u that there are some vietnamese that are not perfect, smoking and doing drug. But where u say that Chinese and Vietnamese look totally different, there some false to that. Maybe North Chinese and Vietnamese look different, but Southern Chinese and Vietnamese look pretty much the same. I been mistaken for being Chinese just about to everyone stranger i meet. Even Chinese people thought I'm Chinese.

P.S. there a lot of Chinese at my school doing drug and smoke too.
