Our country's educational system is modeled after the USA. Our educational standards are HIGH. Did you know that philippines has one of the if not the highest literacy rate in asia? we arent indolent people. if you say filipinos are stupid your just like the spaniards. Filipinos want to be hispanic? WRONG. Just because our surnames are spanish doesnt put us in the same category as the hispanics. Filipinos will always be put down by Asians, Hispanics, Whites. Let's face it, we have our faults, but to concentrate on a a few people who have identity crisis and then blame all 78 million people is wrong! How can you blame a few filipinos for having identity problems. Our country was ruled by foreigners for over 500 years. And it's not only the Spanish who treated us inhumanely. Has every Asian forgotten what the Japanese have done? massacres of thousands of filipinos during wwII raping filipinas for their pleasure. Everyone has their faults.
The Americans werent all innocent either.

Correction to those who think that the Han had a small population migrated to Vietnam.

"After the collapsing of Trung Vuong, the Han rejected the system of Lac Hau, Lac Tuong and reinforced the administration with Hans. They forced Viet people to follow Han laws, Han way of living and immigrated vast numbers of Han people into Viet country, taught Han language in an attempt of Sinicization of Viet. The domination was very brutal with higher taxes and tributes. However, the Han also introduced Chinese writing, Confucianism, science , medicine, architecture and many other cultural aspects etc. The scholars and religious travelers also brought Buddhism, Taoism and the civil code of Confucianism to Viet people. In the 2nd century AD, many Buddhist pagodas were constructed in Luy Lau (Bac Ninh). These facts of Chinese civilization imprinted the northern Vietnamese so profoundly that it became a central factor in their complex make-up."

This is after 43 A.D., this indicated another wave of Han migrated to the northern part of Vietnam.

The other post that I posted earlier, stating that there were nearly 3/4 of a million of the Han registered in the Jiao Chi province during the 2AD:

There were communications by land: northeast across the modern frontier into the upper reaches of the West River; and northwest into Yi province, where present-day Kunming in Yunnan was administered by Yizhou commandery, and where Later Han claimed suzerainty over the Ailao people and the new commandery of Yongchang about the Dali Lake. Longbian, moreover, was the major trading port for the South China Sea, with contact east along the coast to Nanhai, and south to the peninsulas and islands of southeast Asia and the straits which led to the Indian Ocean."

Your statement that dry earwax is not a good marker of ethnicity because it is recessive is untrue. To the contrary, recessive traits such as blue eyes and blond hair are good markers of ethnicity since the appearance of it in a dark population is sometimes an indication of a foreign gene flow.

In 1955, Matsunaga discovered that earwax comes in two forms, sticky or dry. Dry earwax is found in nearly all of the northern Asiatic Mongoloids. It frequency decreases gradually as one moves away from the classic Mongoloid heartland. (98% of Northern Chinese; 96% of Koreans; 94% of Mongols; 92% of Japanese; 86% of Southern Chinese; 53% of Melanesians; 37% of Ainus; 18% of Germans; 16% of American whites; 7% of American Negroes) Matsunage found a correlation between dry earwax and body odor; dry earwax individuals have the least body odor. Matsunaga, “The Dimorphism in Human Normal Cerumen,” AHG, Vol. 25, No. 4 (1962), pp.277-86.

Dry earwax, together with sinodonty, yellowish skin, and epicanthic eyefold, these are all traits of high occurrence in a classic Mongoloid. The more of these traits an Asian has, the greater the probability that he or she is a full member of the Yellow race.

I don't know what it is about Filipino bashing on this board. Filipinos are Asian. For the geographically impaired, just look at a map and see where the country is located.

My beef is that the term "Asian" is too sino-centric. Indians are Asian. Just as Iranians, Indonesians, and Sri Lankans are Asian.

United Asians,
I have never heard a Malay Filipino claim to be Hispanic. You must live in that screwed up state of California. The only Filipinos that claim that are those that are direct descendants of Philippine-born Spaniards, and they are a small number.

How do Spaniards feel about Filipinos in Spain? I don't know. The number of Filipinos living in Spain is an insignificant number. However, I do know that we are regarded very highly in other parts of Europe. Check out this article:

I think the problem that some Asians have with us is that we assimilate rather easily in the Western world (Like it or not we have a lot of Western values in our culture),and we don't face the same type of discrimination as other Asians. However, we do face discrimination, just not the same way other Asians face it.

I don't need to be on the internet 24/7 to know that the Muong and Hmong are different. It's common knowledge.

Since i am also Canadian i would know that the french (who migrated in like the Hmong did) aren't related to the native americans (who were already there). Isn't it just that basic?

Actually more space between toes only means better maneuverablitly. Longer second toe doesn't mean your poor, trust me. I know alot more poor white kids who have longer first toes, so what does that mean? White kids are automatically poor because they have longer first toes? NO, there are also rich white kids.

Were you educated in vietnam? Just asking, because everyone who is born in vietnam knows who the Muong are. Our historical brothers, and also the largest minority group in vietnam.

If you were educated in america, then i wouldn't doubt that you only have time to read what seems to be 'interesting'. What i learn i learn from viet school, they teach history mostly.

And that site for some reason doesn't work for me.

Just saying you know. HMONG and MUONG, are two VERY different tribes. Historically, they were never one (atleast from writing). Hmong are said to be from the Yellow river from northern china thousands of years ago, then moved south. Muong has always been in vietnam.

Isn't that as simple as it can get? PLUS, what i know i learnt in school. Not from the internet. If you don't know anything about vietnam first hand or from a credible source then you shouldn't just assume anything. Who even told you that the Muong and Hmong are related must be idiots.

All of those sites are credible for research. One was escavation based, one was vacational, and another was documentary on the life of the Muong.

And why are you giving me a document about the hmong? I was talking about the Muong, they are two different groups altogether.
