Okinawans are mostly comprised of native Japanese people. They are also more "Chinese" than they are Japanese.

Where did you hear about Catherine having Greek blood? As far as I have read, she has Welsh blood. I remember reading an article where she said that people mistake her for being Latina or even Hawaiian.

The reason I think she looks half-Asian is not because of her dark coloring but because of the shape of her eyes (which I think are her best features). They are almond-shaped and look more Asian to me. Besides there are many Eurasians who can pass for Latino, Mediterranean, etc.

If you are familiar with your people's history, you will know there was a lot of illicit mixing between the local women and US GIs.

Also, many Okinawans mixed with Chinese merchants and pirates way back then, when the island was still a Ching Dynasty colony. The Central Asian/Turkic influence may have came from China (whose people have some Iranian genes in them).

Catherine Zeta-Jones is of Welsh and GREEK (Mediterranean) ancestry and has no Asian blood. Asians don't have the monopoly on Olive skin, dark eyes and black hair!!!

i agree with you fully. since my brother and i have probably shared the same experience(s) as you. me being more asian and him "passing" for white sometimes.

however, i'd say we both directly get racism from asians (in chinese and english) in sydney and overseas.
even though our chinese is pretty poor at best, we don't really hear everything -- but enough to know....as i'm sure all eurasians/hapas have experienced...

although, from what i've read on the internet. it seems that chinese are more tolerant of eurasians/hapas than koreans.(?)

Why is the race a issue especially in United States? Is there pure Native American Indians? Is there pure Black Americans? Is there pure Anglo-Americans?? Is there pure Latino-Americans??? Is there pure Race in the world?? Funny thing is that racially were all united. Its culturally thats divides the world apart. Not on race.

Does anyone think that the actress Catherine-Zeta Jones looks half-Asian? People always mistake her heritage for Latin but to me she looks half-Asian.

Anybody know anything about Okinawans? Supposedly they look "different" from the mainland Japanese. My mom is from Okinawa and she looks mixed. Her brothers have really broad shoulders and are bigger-boned and taller than the average Japanese from her generation. She also has a high nose (she told me that her grandfather had a "Jewish" nose). One of her brother looks Central Asian/Turkic. The others look more Asian.

There must have been some mixing in her family from way back...

I am half-Korean. My mother is Korean and my father is Irish/Scottish/Welsh/Native American. I look kind of like Jennifer Lopez, but when she had dark hair (unfortunately I don't have her body). I definitely look more Asian than caucasian, but people sometimes stare at me like they're trying to figure out what I am, and when I tell them, they claim they knew all along (right!). Some Mexicans assume I'm an Asian-looking Latina. My brother looks more like my dad, except for his straight black hair. I know a lot of Hapas (I live in CA) and it's bulls--t that one particular nationality produces more Asian or more white-looking features. I know "pure" Koreans and Filipinas who look more mixed than me, and other Hapas where you can barely tell they are mixed. I actually feel sorry for my brother b/c he deals with more racism than I do - I don't have to deal with the racist comments b/c people are more cautious around me, while he can "pass" and hears comments like Asians "invading" the UC System and being bad drivers and jerks mocking accents. What you look like all comes down to DNA, and as far as I know, one nationality does not have "stronger" DNA than another, it's just the particular mix of the two people who produced you at that exact moment of conception. Peace, kids.
