"[Then again I know all these Korean girls who tell me they think mixed-race guys are hot ...]
hmmm, i've had a couple of korean girls pursue me....i definently get the most attention from asian girls...."
... the typical example of the classical Asian inferiority complex. Heay, I'm not hatin' on ya. Go play that game... its cool that you can look 'white enough' to be appealing to Asian women who think that truly Asian looking people aren't as good looking. In the words of an AF acquaintance -- "He's not too Asian looking... I think that's hot. Not too white, and still Asian-enough." Pretty pathetic, if you ask me. But hey, enjoy your day in the sun, boys.

I'm a half japanese girl and my father is a typical aussi(i.e. curly hair, big bones and slightly more hair). I look a LOT more white then asian but i'm more attracted to asian males. Most of my friends are asian from everywhere(china vietnam malaysia etc.)but just because i look more white a lot of people expect me to act that way and i feel bad being treated like i should act like i look. I want to act how i feel

Here's another Hapa on TV: Bob Stokes on The Weather Channel. Granted, he comes across as a Hapa Ken Doll reading the weather, but that's still one more for us!!!

Most of the mixed-Chinese kids I know either get on just fine with FOBs if they speak Chinese, or avoid the Asian crowd entirely if they don't. I don't meet many mixed-Chinese hanging out with ABCs. I know I used to cause a lot of tension among my FOB friends because of all my sarcasm and strange sense of humor, not to mention getting pissed off when people would come up and interrupt me in the middle of a conversation and ask, "Wow, you speak Chinese?!!?"
Most of the Japanese guys with massive amounts of facial hair are mixed with Ainu. When I studied in Japan two years ago, people would always speak in Japanese to me, but they'd speak in English to my Chinese friends ... never did understand that one, I guess they figured I was a mixed-Japanese native showing my Chinese tourist friends around. Relative to the size of the population, there seem to be a lot more and a lot wider age-range of mixed-race people in Japan, though I hear varying stories of how well accepted they are.

i sort of half-agree (no pun) with you wrt to the chinese tolerance thing....i do know a couple of eurasians who speak chinese and do get on well with FOB chinese...(i get along with quite a few as well)....but i detect some underlying hate sometimes....but that could just be some personal tension.
To those discussing okinawans,
pardon my ignorance, but are okinawans those japanese with beards. who some times look eurasian??
also when i was in japan. people kept speaking japanese to me....but in china they knew i wasn't fully asian.....go figure.....
this white friend(who grew up in japan) told me it was probably because i'm half asian and there are heaps in japan, is this true??.....
To those discussing catherine zeta,
there's bound to be some cross over between looks when you're looking at mixed-raced indvidulas.....and for the record, i thought she looked mediterranean when i first saw her. and was surprised that she was welsh....

Catherine Zeta Jones specifically said in her first interview on Jay Leno that her mom was GREEK, that's where the ZETA comes from

I am not sure about Catherine's exact origins and I agree she looks sort of hapa, but she describes hersel as "Black Welsh". I am not sure what she is implying with that, but I have never heard her mention any Greek blood and her parents don't look mixed in anyway.
"what race do you belong and who cares!!"
I agree race shouldn't matter to people, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people finding out more about their won heritage and being proud of their race. (When I say proud, I mean proud of who they are without having to knock down other races).

Given that both the mixed-race Koreans from Korea I know (who both speak Korean better than English) were thrown out of multiple schools for getting in too many fights, I'd say Koreans have some sort of race-based bias going on. Then again I know all these Korean girls who tell me they think mixed-race guys are hot ...
Chinese on the other hand are just biased against Chinese people who they think don't speak Chinese, especially those who grew up in English-speaking countries. A lot of mixed-race kids who visit Hong Kong and Taiwan misinterpret it as racial prejudice.
