personal questions for Jay ;-),

I have a few not so personal questions for you:

1) Are you hapa? If so, what mix?
2) Are you a female?
3) Where are you from?
4) Is this your first time posting on the hapa poll?

Brit lad, calm down boy! Watch that trigger finger next time so ya won't post twice. LOL!

Bulgogi Boy,

DA'AM!!! You're in the Midwest!!!???
I sure hope you're not in Kansas!!!
I disagree to an extent, in some ways it is a genetic "crap shoot", but there's also a certain trend in hapa looks that I've noticed. If the Asian parent has smaller eyes (ie. more pure blooded East Asian), there's a greater chance the hapa kid will have smaller eyes compared to if the Asian parent had larger eyes. 1/2 Hawaiian+Chinese and 1/2 White mixes tend to look a little more Caucasian or mixed than 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 White mixes.

BTW- did you and that Thai hapa guy grow-up in the Midwest? If not, where?

The question "What are you?" is a very common question in Hawaii.
I guess it's different when you're always having ignorant rednecks ask you that same question over and over w/ their puzzled looks.

"Catherine was born in 1969 to a Irish mother (Pat) and Welsh father (Dai)."
"Many have suggested that Catherine added Zeta to her name to make her sound more exotic. This is not true. She was named after her grandmother. Catherine explains ,"It was something to do with my great-grandfather - either a boat he sailed on or a stripper he encountered on his travels." It is interesting to note that many people (including the Zorro film makers, Columbia TriStar) are hyphenating Catherine's name to produce Zeta-Jones. This, to my mind, seems to be incorrect. Jones is a very common Welsh surname. I suspect that Catherine used her middle name, Zeta, because Catherine Jones is a common name. "There were about six other Catherine Joneses in my class at school." she says."

I haven't met many hapas at college here (midwest), but one. He's a Thai-caucasian mix, and I'm Corean-caucasian mix. Both of our fathers are white. He looks mostly white, and I look more half and half (except to ignorant locals, who assume "ya'll look alike."). To those who are wondering about mixes, more like this or that, I really believe it's a genetic "crap shoot." So quit trying to figure out what mix would be best if that's your aim.

One of the things I quickly became tired of when I was growing up here was people staring at me and asking "What are you?" "A human being like you!" Please people, just let it go.

One of the most adorable hapa chick i've seen is the Southeast Asian MTV VJ Donita Rose. I heard she's half-Filipina half-American. She's a doll. She looks like a twin of Audrey Hepburn. She's a very nice girl with a little child sense of humour. She's my no.1 crush!

Hey where is Jay?
We are not hearing from our happy, horny hapa dude lately. Jay whewre are you now?

Jay I have some personal questions for you. Would you mind to answer them?

Are you half Chinese or half Malaysian? Also how do you look like--more Asian or White? How old are you and what is your height and built? Who is your look alike?(if there is one). Do you have a hapa girlfriend? What type of hapa girls do you like? Chinese hapa? Malaysian hapa? korean hapa? etc. etc.

Just looked up some statistics on Hawaii. Here's the link:

http://www.eeoc.gov/stats/census/majorgroups/ hawaii/hi_county_rank.pdf

Seems that in quite a few counties
Asian-White mixes make around 3% of the population. However, certain areas in each county definitely have more than 3% since 3% is just an average. Some areas may have close to 10% Asian-White mixes.

[Most of my friends are asian from everywhere(china vietnam malaysia etc.)but just because i look more white a lot of people expect me to act that way and i feel bad being treated like i should act like i look. I want to act how i feel]

I've gotten the same deal many times!
More so from Asian males on the U.S. Mainland than in Hawaii. Asian females seem to be a lot more accepting and non-prejudicial/discriminatory towards me compared to Asian males. Well, maybe this deals more w/ Indochinese males. Seems like some of them still have issues w/ the Vietnam war or some White boy stealing their cousin's girl.
I don't get much of this shit from Chinese, Japanese, Malay, and Filipino males. I bet they'd treat me a lot better if my parents were an AM/WF couple rather than a AF/WM couple and if I looked more Asian.

Well, they won't have to worry about me taking their women since I'm not that attracted to most Asian females (unless they're a bit mixed).
Yes, Boyo, I know what you mean when you say Asian women think truly Asian looking people aren't as good looking. But then again, this seems to apply to all races. People who look too White w/ pasty a**/Albino-looking skin and/or red freckles and the blackest looking Black people are deemed less attractive. It's not good to be too inbred looking.

Boyo....! ,

sounds like you're a little bit jealous......

Boyo:
Yeah, or maybe my fellow mixed-race Chinese and I get positive attention cuz Asian girls are impressed we bothered putting in the effort to learn to speak and read Chinese when most American-born Asians struggle with basic conversation.
