K,

Do you speak hakka? Hakka is the purest and oldest dialect in China. History has it that Hakka was not really Hans Chinese. They have known for roaming ancient china with two feet since 3000 BC and very closely related to Peking man skeletal structure. Anyway, "ma yow" is sesame oil, does your skin look like sesame oil and "bian se" is part west, so I think they referring you having some cuacasian mixture.

To All My Hapas,

ME Gal 17 or 18 now, Jay...The Hapa, Dee, TH Lien, and other hapas I have missed. Good to hear from you guys again.

Hello,

My mother is taiwanese, and my father is hakka taiwanese. But, I think i am sometimes mistaken to be part-asian.
When i go to china-town or i go to places where there are alot of fob's, i seem to get called "ma yow" and "bian se" alot. Can anyone tell me what these mean, i think my parents know but don't want to tell me.

To Dee, dusun/kadazan Hapa & green1879,

Hi all, how are you guys doing? Yup, I found out this site has lots of half Malaysians. It's nice though.

Oh Dee, Baba Nyonya is a term used in Malacca since the older days where Malacca was a famous port which attracted traders from around the world. You see, Baba Nyonya is actually a "product" of a Chinese trader with a local woman. My mom is a Baba Nyonya which means she's Chinese with alittle Malay blood.Yes, it is used commonly in Malaysia though.

Which part of Malaysia do I live in? I live in Peninsula Malaysia, in the state of Selangor.I live in Petaling Jaya.I have alot of Eurasian friends too.My mom? My mom's from the state of Malacca.Malacca has lots of Baba Nyonyas.Talk soon guys!! ciao.......

Hey! Im a German, Chinese, Japanese, and Native American hapa. Im 15 and I don't look white or Asian. I can pass for full Native American but not for Latina. Generally people do not ask me what my nationality is, once someone asked me if I was Greek once. I have considered working at Disneyland as Pocahontas. I have slanted eyes but big eyelids and a western nose. I have my German dad's bone structure and nose but luckily i got my moms beautiful Asian cheekbones. Any other Native American looking hapas out there?

Dee,

I remember even seeing a television show entitled "Baba Nyonya" when I was a young teenager visiting my cousins in Sarawak. I wonder if they still have that show on.

Jay... another Malaysian-Chinese hapa born in the U.S.    Thursday, January 10, 2002 at 13:20:17 (PST)
Charmaine,
This site does have quite a lot of half Malaysians! I myself am half English, half Malaysian-Chinese. My mix is quite diverse too. I've never heard the term Baba Nyonya before, is it used commonly?
