"Anyhow, TSJ- why don't you suggest to the editors of goldsea.com to have a board comparing the Bay Area with the LA area, rather than clogging this board with all this talk about the Bay Area here- we don't care over here!"

First of all, you nameless entity who doesn't have the balls to post his e-mail address on here, I never said that the Bay was better than LA (unlike some guy I will not name who constantly raids the Bay boards with "LA is #1!). All I did was shoot down some invalid points made by other posters. My thing is picking apart peoples' weak arguments, and turning the tables on them. Besides, I see a lot of your LA folks on the Bay board too.

My observations. Tell me what you guys think. It seems most Koreans love LA..gotta love the nightlife and the plentiful restaurants..and not to mention the pretty pretty Korean girls. Only other place Koreans might want to live is NY/NJ area. Most Chinese like LA, but some prefer either SF or NY. Makes sense since both those cities have large Chinese populations. Japanese-Americans feel most comfortable in LA. Of course, since LA has the largest JA population in the US. I think some JAs would like Bay Area as well. A lot of Vietnamese like so Cal, but a lot probably could like Houston just as much. But we all know the weather in Houston is pretty bad.

How much a person likes LA depends on your specific Asian ethnicity. Sorry for not including all groups. These are just my observations living in LA.

TSJ

If you want to dog LA on this board and say how much better the Bay Area is- well you can do on that board. Do LA people care about the Bay Area? The ones who do, can post on the Bay Area board.

Frankly, I think the Bay Area is overrated, anyways. What's wrong if somebody prefers the sprawl, diversity (so-called segregated communities), traffic, crime (I don't prefer this, but there are also many safer areas of LA), smog, earthquakes (yes they have that in the Bay Area), superficial/"plastic" people (there are also superficial people up there), Or that the people in the Bay Area have a higher per capita income-they need it to pay for the high cost of living there- without that higher pay check you would be homeless up there.

Anyhow, TSJ- why don't you suggest to the editors of goldsea.com to have a board comparing the Bay Area with the LA area, rather than clogging this board with all this talk about the Bay Area here- we don't care over here!

Car chases kick ass! Watching them is part of the fun of living here. Stay out of their way when you are on the road however. BTW, What do you do in Idaho for fun, what are some main attractions there? Just curious.

Hmmm, I'm watching 20/20 and they say that there's 1000 car chases a year in L.A. 1000! Not only that, but the newscasters, morons that they are, broadcast this live in complete disregard for public safety. The high crime rate is also bad in L.A. not to mention the smog and traffic. I used to live in L.A. but not anymore. I think Idaho's a much better place (I lived there too).

I LOVE LA!!!

The weather, the Socal Vibe, the Koreanz, the Viets in O.C., the food, the palm trees, the beach surroundings.

I also love Nothern Cali!!!

I love how the Chinese hold it down up there... Love how the Pinoys represent. I love how Frisco is hip and urban.

I LOOVVEEEE California!!!

All the folks from the bay area complaining about LA. One word: YAWN. So you like SF better, fine, but why the need to constantly post on the "Asian Life in Los Angeles" board and spew your vitriol? I love SF too, no other city like it. But I choose to live in LA, and overall, even with its faults, this city is a better fit for me. I love the sprawl. I love the Mexican culture (40% of the population and rising). I love the weather. I love the diversity among Asians (I have friends who are Filipino, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Japanese etc.). I even like the so-called superficiality - nothing wrong with looking good - but if you can't handle it, you can always move to San Francisco!

I live on the Westside, so don't know much about SGV. Westside Asians are pretty integrated (more militant of you may say "white washed"), and there are A LOT of us on this side of town. Maybe they're all UCLA students. Chinatown's become kind of a hip spot for artists, and the "LA Times" Real Estate section a few weeks back had an article about K-Town being the new, "hot" place to live - still affordable, and one of the only places in the city where everything is within walking distance. I only go out in K-Town if someone else pays for the table, it's too expensive otherwise!
