WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
LA is turning in to a crime infested s*** hole, they need to use the military to clean up that place, and round up all the criminals and to stop all the illegal drug smuggling, and to round up all the illegal immigrants. Some parts of LA is very nice, but they could make LA a lot better.

I'm a Mid-west transplant in L.A. I did live in San Jose briefly and then moved to L.A. Ever since I've been here.
I've been to Washington, DC, NYC, Phildelphia, Chicago, St. Louis (where I'm from growing up) and few others, I chose L.A. as the best place to live, at least, for me. Why? More variety in people, food and environment, great nightlife, beach culture, and greater anonymity meaning more freedom to live the way I want to live (more privacy, that is). In spite of the urban sprawl, traffic and smog, I never get over this feeling of wonder about how diverse and crazy L.A. is. I've not been to all parts of L.A. yet. I knew that I'll have a blast here 'cause I'll never find it elsewhere after living here pretty long (been here for 6 years now). It's hard to describe this...wonder. Yes, it got all the negative STUFF in it, but L.A. is still WOW! Bay Area is different. Beautiful weather and environment but not my kind of city. It's good for visiting, that's all.
Next to L.A., I love San Diego. =o)

TSJ and ESO You Know,
Hope you two don't represent the "superior, more cultured" Bay Area mentality- you two obviously don't exhibit it with your posts.
The point of So Cal was that Bay Area people stereotype So Cal people as being shallow and uneducated gangster (or at least TSJ stereotypes it that way). So Cal was saying that's a lame stereotype as if someone suggesting Bay Area is the Gay Area.
If you think the Bay Area is so great, there is a forum about that. Personally, I don't think the Bay Area is "all that" either. I can think of many better places to live than the Bay Area.

Having lived both in LA and the Bay Area, the Bay wins my vote. The people up in Northern Cal are just more real and friendly. You LA folks are just materialistic and worry too much on impressing others.

This is hilarious. I wonder what is behind the mysterious impetus which seems to divide people so bitterly over northern and southern geographies. Whether it's between northern and southern chinese, the civil war north and south, or norteno and sureno (northern and southern latino gangs), there must be something behind geographical north and south which causes such strong divisions and opinions. Must be the earthly magnetic poles, LOL.

"So, I should talk like a fag if I want to talk like a Bay Area socialite???"
According to the stats, there are more gays in LA than the Bay. Ever heard of West Hollywood?!

TSJ,
I'm with "This Is LA." You need to get a life to get your butt back in the Bay Area board.
""Yo, so it's a-ight for y'all to ride up in our hood, and throw up ya signs and diss us like that, yo, and y'all don't think we gon come back hard? Ya know what I'm sayin'?!?" - WTF is that crap you trying to pull??!! You are pathetic- So, I should talk like a fag if I want to talk like a Bay Area socialite??? Makes as much sense as you trying to use that ghetto talk to represent LA.
Face it, there are people who think the Bay Area sucks and LA is better (you may disagree- but that's their preference).

TSJ,
"Oh... so it' s okay for some dude to come up to our boards, and talk smack, but we can't come in here, huh? Typical LA segregationalist.
Oh wait... maybe you don't understand. Why don't I use some "Los Ange" lingo. "Yo, so it's a-ight for y'all to ride up in our hood, and throw up ya signs and diss us like that, yo, and y'all don't think we gon come back hard? Ya know what I'm sayin'?!?"'
I hope you don't represent the so-called sophistication people in the Bay Area brag about. If so, that's a sorry kind of sophistication. Typical LA segregationist? Typical Bay Area snob-very unimpressive.
Now, let's get back to talking about LA- the sprawl, the sun, smog, ethnic communities, food, superficiality.
