Say I lived in mainland China, where obviously, it's pretty much 100% Chinese. If I lived out in the farms somewhere, and only see 5 people a day, does that mean that NYC has more Chinese?!?!
Someone needs to find out the Asian population of the entire Bay Area (all those counties you've just mentioned) and compare them against with NYC's Asian population. That would be fair enough and I think NYC would be fairly close. Also, NYC doesn't go by counties, we have boroughs..
These are the Chinese neighborhoods in NYC and its boroughs. Manhattan Chinatown, Lower East Side, Elmhurst, Flushing, Forest Hills, Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Bensonhurst and growing. I don't know if the Chinese population in the Bay Area is growing rapidly because out here, the Chinese are like roaches...
These are the Korean neighborhoods in NYC and its boroughs. Manhattan Koreantown, Elmhurst, Flushing.
These are the Japanese neighborhoods in NYC and its boroughs, East Village, Forest Hills.
Southeast Asians with exception of Flips make up a small population in NYC. If you have included Indians in your Asian population of the Bay Area, then I think NY has the higher percentage of Asians by pure speculation.
These are the non Asian neighborhoods in NYC which have many Asians and seeing 100 people a day in these areas will guarantee a sight of 25 Asians or more, Soho, Greenwhich Village, East Village, Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Tribeca, Turtle Bay, Kips Bay..too many more to name...
Also, there are many Chinese here delivering Chinese food by bicycle in Non Asian areas. So seeing 100 pedestrians, you would find at least 5 Chinese riding bikes delivering food.
Seeing 300 people in NYC and only 48 would be Asian happen only in neighboorhoods that are distinctly more Black, Latino, or White. If there is a neighboorhod or area where Asian numbers are fairly equal with other groups, the number would be higher.
If you go to neighborhoods that are distinctly Black, Latino or White in the Bay Area, the same would happen.
Again, we need to know the entire Asian population in the Bay Area and that of New York City because certain places in our city which are non Asian vary in the number of Asians seen per day.
