China, Japan Meet in Wimbledon Women's Doubles

The Chinese women’s doubles team of Yan Zi and Zheng Jie played the Japanese team of Akiko Morigami and Ayumi Morita Thursday. Yan and Zheng won the match 6-1, 61. They will take on Gisela Dulko and Shahir Peer on Saturday.
Yan and Zheng won the Wimbledon doubles title in 2006. Zheng was a singles semifinalist in 2008.
The highest seeded Asian singles player remaining in the draw is China’s Li Na (19), who was a Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 2006. She is playing Olga Govortsova of Belarus on Thursday. Peng Shuai was playing a tight 3-setter against Agnieszka Radwanska (11) Thursday.
