It's difficult to miss the numerical imbalance between the numbers of AF/WM and AM/WF couples in American society, whether it be in the media or in real life. Statistics from recent years show a lessening of the disparity to a ratio of about 3:2, suggesting that the factors that led to the overall 3:1 disparity may be decreasing.
