MORNING GLORY

Sharon Tay revisits the scene of her award-winning coverage of the 1994 Malibu Fire -- in a beaded Gemma Kahng evening dress.
On HER FACE
I use Clinique's Foaming Cleanser, Neutrogena moisturizer, and Lancôme eye makeup remover. For color cosmetics, I use M.A.C. products, except that their lipsticks are very drying on the lips. For mascara, I use Max Factor 2000 Calories.

On MAINTENANCE
I am a high maintenance person. I make sure to get a hair cut every four weeks, and that my nails are done. I'm very fastidious about my hair style and take good care of my skin by visiting spas and pampering myself. If I don't have time, I make a beauty day at home by soaking in a bubble bath and unwind. I also work on body sculpting and step aerobics for five hours weekly.

On TOOLS
I get a clothing allowance of about $2,000 a year, a taxable item, but I end up spending $500 to $1,000 on clothes each month. I mostly buy clothes that are suitable for work. I look for bold colors with a very unique, modern style because of what the camera likes. I wear a lot of stand-out solids like blacks, blues and reds, and avoid tiny, busy patterns and colors like white or cream. Cream throws the cameras off, they say.
When I anchor I'm wearing jeans. Usually I'm busy writing [until the last minute] and I just throw on the jacket just before going on air.
When I'm playing, I'm kind of funky. I wear riding pants, stretch pants, stirrup pants. I shop at BCBG and Nordstrom, among others, because I look for petite sizes. I hate going to a department store and looking in the petite section. A lot of my professional clothes come from Barami Studio. PAGE 5
