Personal grooming says a lot about that person because it tells the public and your colleagues that you care about how you look, and that caring about the details will carry over to work.
This is a changing day and age for career women. We're still a long way from equality at work, but we're slowly working in that direction. We are definitely getting more recognition now.
Men may have an advantage in that their appearance is not as critical, but at the same time, women can use that to advantage. If you have the look, carry it with confidence. And be assertive, not aggressive. [With appropriate appearance] being assertive and intelligent transcends in the male dominated professional world.
More women are moving up in this field and a lot of minorities are making their ways into broadcasting as well. I know if I keep working hard I'll achieve [professional success] but I'm very happy where I am now. "Run and gun" field work gives me a natural high because it's never routine. Perhaps one day I'd like to go into long-form pieces, to work in magazine type shows.

My greatest strength as an anchor is being genuine. Anyone can read the news, but to tell the story well is different. What I do should move people. I'm a good story-teller. My weakness is that I panic when something goes wrong. I'd like to learn to handle the bumps without panic.
I love my job. I don't think of it as a job. In ten years I'd like to be in a happy position where I make good money, and am successful doing what I love. I'd like to get married and start a family with one or two children. I can't imagine being a house mom. I can't picture not having a career.
