To Southern Hemisphere AM and others,

It's about the the topic of women in Europe being more receptive to Asians. I was born in North America but my parents immigrated here from Europe. I was raised in a very "European" way I guess... and I happen to live in Montreal, which I've heard people say is one of the most European-like cities in North America. Nevertheless, I don't live IN Europe and I have never had a problem with Asian males and neither have any of the friends I've had.

Actually I see a lot of AM/WF couples around... each time when I am with my bf and we see another couple like us we all usually stare at each other and smile. :)

But back to the Europe topic. If they are nicer I think the media probably has a part in that but also the way people live in society. Sometimes they are more accepting of others. I don't know if this is going to sound way off, but it is also a smaller continent and people travel more and get to see different ways of life more than we do here. Just a thought...

Thanks for bringing those numbers to light. It confirms my own empirical observations (and flies in the face of a lot of hand-wringing on this board about how Asian men have it rough with non-Asian women).

With respect to the statistics about what percentage of each racial group has dated interracially, my only caution is that, if you look at the small print below the graphs that explains the methodology, it notes that the margin of error for the statistics about Asians in the survey was plus or minus 9%. Keeping that in mind, the percentage of Asian men and women who said they've dated interracially could theoretically be reversed in a larger sample (i.e. 72% of AF and 61% of AM have dated interracially). Quite frankly, that would seem a little more realistic.

Nevertheless, it still makes Asians -- both men and women -- the most likely to have dated interracially. Also, it confirms that the disparity for Asians between men and women for interracial dating is the smallest among all racial groups. For blacks, whites, and latinos, even if you account for the margins of error in the statistics, the disparity between men and women having dated interracially is much greater. And that's still news to cheer about (for us, anyway.)

Could it be because Asians are not as many as in America or Canada? Are they less exposed to bad stereotypes about AM's perpetuated by the media?

In Holland for example, the most common IR I saw was the BM/WF coupling, WM/AF couples are not as common maybe because there are more black people than Asians in Holland.

Here in Australia where I currently am living in, I noticed a growing number of AM/WF lately. Most of them are of teens or youth under 25. WM/AF couples are still the most common perhaps because Asians make the 2nd biggest race in terms of quantity, outnumbering the black population in Down Under.

Hmmm,
All fine.
Asian males and white females make a great marriage. White females tend to appreciate the loyalty and generousity of a asian male a lot more then most asian females considering the lack of it in the males of their race.

Some problems exist with jealous white males, but most white females tend to be supportive. I see more trouble from asian females who generally disaprove of the the relationship.

The comment about competitive tension was a comment about someone else acting that way, possibly. I have no need to feel that way, since all of my male friends are different than each other and myself. We each have to offer a lady something different and unique. Next time you wanna read into someone else's online exchange, try reading a few postings back. Thanks for the advice, but you are preaching to the coverted.
