The only teams that china basketball can beat are Lebanon or Philipines or some 3rd world country that nobody gives a crap about. Yup, big deal. Watch the china team face the world powers, and they get killed by 40 points. I don't know what there is to brag about.
just pointing out the obvious    Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 23:01:45 (PDT)
And also,

Korean basketball is NON EXISTENT in the world stage. They did not even qualify for the worlds Series. In fact in the Jones Cup held this summer in Taiwan , the Korean team made of the military players and University stars, got killed by every team finished last in the 8 team tourney. Plus the national team loses to China by a 20 something points every time they play ! So bear that in mind when you koreans try to trash someone else's national team okay?

Hey Jealous Loser,

First of all Canada is one of the top in world basketball. You are posting some bulls*** about how Canada is not in the same league with greek russian brasilian turkish etc. The fact is Canada just beat the Russian team (with kirelenko) yesterday without Nash, Macuollah or any Canadian NBA players. And they came in 2nd in a recent tournament in turkey featured Yuogoslavia (the eventual champion) Brasil Turkey China Angola Algeria etc. It's funny how you don't know shit about basketball and yet you're ranting in this forum =)
And about korean soccer, like i said there is no sigificant difference between her and her neighbours FYI its record against the Chinese national in the last 5 years was 1-0-5 not exactly the type of convincing record that proves their superiority. And it's aweful to see that Kim Dae Jung announced that koreans experienced their HAPPIEST MOMENT in FIVE THOUSAND years of histroy after making to the semis in the world cup. 5000 years of history and nothing was better winning soccer matches?! I feel sorry.....

Viva La Filipina
So Philippines only have one hundred
year of history? I thought Filipinos
have been around for thousands of years.
Filipinos are good boxers but Coreans
are better, you'll see next month.

Kevin
Dumbass, So Kim choked in last years World Series, so what? Does he have a ring? yeah I thought so loser, you couldn't accomplish one thousandth this kid has already in your life time. He has many many years of major league baseball head of him. Wasn't he one of the big reason why Arizona got to the world series? Is he still their number one closer?

Chinatown
Still posting nonsense huh? Face it Chinese basketball sux! Matter of fact whole Asian b-ball sux! You're just pissed off boy because there isn't one single Chinese male sports role model for your sorry ass. And by trying to rave about Ming like he's the next coming of Jordan his real sad.

SN,

Kailee Wong's father is a Hawaiian-Chinese and mother is of European descent. He was All-American at Stanford as a defensive end.

Who is Michael Ri?    Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 18:23:31 (PDT)
Viva La Filipina,

You're denigrating yourself saying that other countries in Asia should do better because they have civilizations that are millenia old while The Philippines is only a century old. This statement is asinine and contradictory.

There have been people in The Philippines as long as ther have been people in Korea; so to say that Korea has a civilization that's millenia older is to say that the people in The Philippines prior to the past century, as you indicated, were uncivilized. It's tragic that one would think so lowly of his nation and countrymen in such disregard... Lol. And then you say that The Philippines is a century old and you're proud of what it accomplished???????? Fist of all, what has The Philippines accomplished? You guys are seen as the Mexicans of Asia[peons and servants]. Second of all, The Republic of Korea has been an official country for half a century now and it's light years ahead of The Philippines in any aspect of Society. And the gap countinues to increase at an astounding rate.

These Filipino goofballs keep trying to vindicate themselves, but instead keep digging deeper holes for themselves. Just face the facts, swallow your pride, and put this subject behind you.

Jealous losers,

If China is not even the at the level of NCAA basketball, then I am sure Corean basketball is not even on par with USA's high school level.
I give you 6 points to start the game    Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 13:18:23 (PDT)
chinese are just so disgruntled and jealous because they dont have anybody good to look up to that they can really identify with in professional sports. Look at the Japanese. They got no problems. They got enough heroes. They already got Ichiro, Nomo, and others in the Major League. Then look at the Coreans. They kicked ass in soccer. Anybody that's denying their success in the recent world cup is either a hateful self-hating Asian or a really jealous Asian of another ethnicity, most likely chinese because they've never won anything before.

So what's all this bashing on Corean soccer? It seems like they're coming from mostly chinese people. Let's recheck the SCOREBOARD of the World Cup. china got bleeeeeOOOOOWN away by all teams, even the weakest ones in the tournament.

So with nothing to brag about, why are some chinese being so boisterous and hyping their basketball? The china basketball team is just as bad as their soccer team. Scores don't lie. china national team gets killed by 35 points by every opponent. How is that impressive at all? Doesn't it stink? Ichiro was MVP last year and helped Seattle be one of the top teams. Now that's impressive. Corea was #4 in soccer. That's impressive. What did the chinese achieve? They were only 31 points away from beating the US squad????

UHmmmmm.... whatever.

Like everybody says, yao ming is overrated and can barely play. He has no defense, and he almost got dunked on by a much shorter guy. The guy just plays with little heart and little passion. Only chinese people would pretend that he's good.

But then again, we other Asians understand. you don't have any heroes to look up to in sports, so even if a new guy comes up, and he sucks, you still have to tolerate it and keep positive. That's dreaming. Didn't want to bring all this up, and it's a bit tasteless (i agree), but some of you ignorant people out there have really been annoying, and you need a big dose of reality check to stay grounded and humbled. You have no right to be so arrogant because your countrymen aint done shhhh.... You should remember that next time you talk.
