Please see history out of your box? Given China's size and higher culture, it was predistined to expand. I know many Vietnamese still regard parts of southern China as part of their lost lands. Heck, I might even have some of the same ancestry as you! But, fact is the Han Chinese culture was coveted by its surrounding neighbors that even without conquest (esp. in case of Japanese) the culture still conquers you. And, often times, the surrounding neighbors willingly joined the Middle Kingdom. Chinese rule and culture enlightened many if not all of East Asia. This you cannot deny and I am not saying it should be forced on others. In the past, everyone knew it was the only civilization to emulate. So, the hungry ones was not China alone. Others wanted to partake.

I looked into the link that you provide, I can tell you the Vietnam history in the link was written by a Western guy. If you notice Vietnamese have no such last name NGYUEN. The correct spelling is NGUYEN.
I have spent all my young life to study history (my major) in Vietnam. I never heard that Vietnamese were Mongolians originally.
One of my history professors told me that the French even came up with their own history of Vietnamese people that Vietnamese people are Malaysian mixed with Indonesian! Oh God! If that is true why most Vietnamese are not Muslim and why most Vietnamese love to eat Chinese BBQ PORK.

by the way, i am vietnamese and i am engaged to a chinese man. he absolutely ADORES me. we do not have any cultural problems or language barriers (if you dont know yet, english is a world wide language). we frequent the same eateries and we are both buddhists. so tell me again why it would be so hard for chinese and viets to be together? i find it ridiculous for anyone to suggest that we "stick to our own people" because we supposedly have so many differences. its called "assimilation" people, get with it.

i think "historypro" has the vietnamese history down most correctly. also, yes we were invaded by the french, but that did not mean every vietnamese woman copulated with a french man. the very idea is an absolute proof of an uneducated mind! i also wanted to banish the myth that vietnamese girls have "no meat on them" and are the "shortest girls around". every girl is different, you just havent met every vietnamese girl yet. i have a light spattering of chinese heritage in my family, but my family speaks vietnamese, they were born in vietnam, therefore we are vietnamese. its very simple! i have done some light studies into china's history, and i concluded that china is like a greedy, ruthless, control freak, country hungry monster.

I agree with the Chinese guy from Sydney. I'm Viet/Chinese but I find Viet girls more attractive. They have better bodies I think, CHinese girls on a whole are full of shit and play hard to get when they're not even hot.....Viet girls somewhat have better bodies.

I know of many such unions. Vietnamese girls are petite and hot (just like Thai girls) and they are not as inhibited as Chinese girls. Man, if you look into their seductive eyes, you will be mesmerized!!!

my opinion of a beautiful women is usually of a Chinese girl, i can therefore say i prefer Chinese girls.
to tell the truth, i probably cant tell the difference between Chinese and Vietnamese anyways.
most of my friends are Cietnamese or Viet-Chinese mixed. i dont know why, it just happened.
also the girls i really fancy out of the people i know are Cietnamese or Viet mixed. i really dont know why. maybe im destined to bring Chinese and Vietnamese together! :-D
i guess we could just say we're ALL of the same origins and shouldnt hate each other on the basis of being Chinese or Viet or whatever.

independence from China more than a thousand years
ago. Another fact, most Viet people have Chinese
ancestry. And Viet people are very Confucius oriented
people. Furthermore, Chinese is official language of
Vietnam for thousand of years until the French came in 19th century.

Most Viet girls are usually very short. They're one of the shortest Asians around. Furthermore, most Viets you can't even tell that they have French blood. There are tons of Viets around here and I've never seen one that even looks close to being a mix.

Are you sure that chinese is the people that roamed south, later becameing the vietnamese? I thought it was the mongol that roamed in vietnam and became the vietnamese.

Personally, i think chinese girls is cuter than vietnamese. Properly because generally chinese girl have more meat/fat in their face. But i think a mix between the two is the pettiest, proberly because there this really cute vietnamese/chinese girl in my school.
