The origin of Vietnamese people is still a question mark, since there are too many theories about that. In my knowledge, I DO believe that the Vietnamese people are descendants of Suo people. When Liu Beng and his army won the war between "Han and Suo", around 200s BC, he tried to kill all of Suo people to save troubles for future. Therefore, Suo people had to cross the Yangtze River and fled to the south and settled at somewhere near Lake Tungting. Later, they were driven further south to the land what nowaday called Guangdong and Guangxi by the Han people. Actually, the term Vietnam means Cross (Viet) to the South (Nam). Did I prove that Vietnamese people are not descendants of Mongols?

I believe "historypro" is definetly most correct about the vietnamese history, and for those who think that the vietnamese people are decedance of mongolians, do some more research. Having chinese friends and vietnamese friends, i find that the two cultures are very much alike, i'm mix viet/chinese my self, but I personaly think viet girls are alot more attractive then chinese girls.

That's worth a laugh. Cut a cow's skin and it'll bleed red, so maybe we descended from a cow, right?

And stereotypical or not, we're Viet if we're Viet. Too many people describing themselves as not being stereotypical. What are theses stereotypes? Yeah, name a few and then you can fit anyone from any ethnicty into it. Don't give damn about stereotypes, look pass it! We're better than that, we can judge people based on who they are, not on how they are supposed to be becasue they fit this or that stereotype.

You cannot generalise. Everyone is different, its up to the individual to decide. Some viet chics are total fat dogs, some are schweet. Some Chinese look like they got hit by a bus, and some are supermodel material. If you mix 1000 facial photoes of chinese and viet, you wouldn't be able to tell em apart (not easily anyways). I'm 100% viet, I don't dress like stereotyped viets, I don't act like stereotyped viets, I don't look like stereotyped viets, pplz alwayz think i'm anythin but viet. All this bullshit about viets and chinese make me laugh.

You know it's not a simple as that. Would you honestly have no qualms about dating a 'white boy' who secretly harbors disrespect toward your people, and only tells you that he does respect Asians, because he is getting some ass from you? Think about that. I HATE it when people say all this corny shit about "people bleeding red"... I wish it were so (the world would be free from headache then), but that just isn't the case. I recently met a beautiful Vietnamese woman in Taiwan. I think that the Vietnamese are a very sincere and lovely people. I have a genuine respect for their culture and I think that their history shows that they have endured much over the years. I would just like to say that I feel that Chinese / Vietnamese unions can be very produce harmonious and wonderful relationships.

From what I know vietnamese are of chinese ancestry and were under the control of the chinese dynasties for a long time. (I don't remeber all of this stuff, but I know we're not of Mongolian descent) As for the other question, I think there are more hot chinese chicks then vietnamese chicks. But I prefer vietnamese girls since chinese girls can be real bitches sometimes.
