Hi I'm asian and I have a big problem! I have nice big eyes like my dad but i have a very small mole on the inner crease of my right eye that's not growing but it causes my crease to not match my left eye at all. It looks very strange and i'm not sure if people notice. My right eyelid is totally asian with out noticeable crease but my left has a crease that's nice...there's really nothing i can do but does anyone have any suggestions that might help? Thanks! I also think shimmery brown eyeshadow from clinique looks nice on us.

I'm an adopted Korean-American, and have the creases in my eyelids. Like some of you've mentioned, the one side is slightly larger than the other.
To achieve the wide-eyed look, I usually opt for a cheap eyeliner (Wet 'N Wild works well) in an almost black color. Black can be really overpowering, especially on lighter complexions. I like to sweep pencil eyeliner on the top lid all the way across (thicker near the outside) to create a very Audrey Hepburn ish cat eye effect.
If you want your eyes to look bigger, only line the OUTSIDE of your bottom lid. Too close to the inside makes your eye look smaller!
I go easy on the eyeshadow, blending from a brown to a light taupe, and then sweep a coat of Clinique mascara over my curled lashes. I haven't tried any of that self curling stuff, but I'd like to try it...
It's overall a very simple and quick look to do. As long as you play down the rest of your makeup, it's not overpowering, but dramatic.

help! i'm a 17 year old half-asian with a single eyelids and a small crease which is just visible when my eyes are open, but occasionally i wake up with a huge double lid (with a line down the middle... it looks like a triple eyelid!), and it usually goes away within a few hours... except suddenly this has happened to one of my eyes, and it's been that way for the last four days, which is the longest period of time i can remember. has this happened to any of you? i like how my eye looks with the double crease (much bigger), but i never was bothered by my single lidded eyes before, and above all i want my eyes to be uniform. what can i do to either make my normal eye catch up, or to make my other eye return to normal (short of surgery, which i can't afford)? the difference is huge, and i have no idea why this this time it doesn't go away.

Hi
I am corean adopted, and I read most of the comment yesterday. As a make-up artist I can say that there are no rules for how to do your make-up (eyemake-up). There is just one thing I would like to say to you all, the make-up you see in a magazin is made for photo, and NOT for everyday use, so don`t try to copi them. Oh, and one other thing, the girls you see, they don`t look like that i real life because there are not a picture that is not gone throught photoshop.

I don't wear much eye make-up except for mascara. I have tried everything out there - from Loreal to Lancome to MAC, and the best mascara I have ever tried is Maybelline Full & Soft Waterproof. It is the only mascara I have tried that can HOLD A CURL! The others thicken/lengthen etc. but eventually straighten out my (curled w/a regular eyelash curler) lashes - bad since it's summertime and that means my lashes are brushing up against my sunglasses. Try this mascara!

hi. i have super straight eyelashes, and i was wondering if shiseido's eyelash curler really works? could i buy this product in canada? i was considering on buying MAC's eyelash curler. has anyone tried it?? hmm...i use liquid eyeliner.. but its not one of those dramatic eyeliners.. but anyways, whenever i apply eyeliner it tends to come off. the inner and outer corners where i apply it comes off during the day....and im sick of reapplying it!! so, im just wondering if theres a eyeliner out there that is long lasting and smudge proof. please email me at lil_jolyne@hotmail.com cuz i wont be checkin this site for replies. thanx!!!!

Less is more. The biggest mistake Asian girls make is trying to wear the same colours that their blond hair/blue eyed counterparts do and to try to "simulate" a crease.
Best tactic is to invest in a good eyelash curler, never crimp with mascara on, and don't overdo the liner. Don't line the whole upper lid, it just shuts your eye in and same with the bottom. Start from halfway in the eye and follow the natural line. You can use a liquid liner close to the lashes, but don't make the mistake of sweeping to far past your natural lid. Use a soft color, dusty rose or beige over the whole eye and a darker color toward the outer third of the eye...use a soft bristle brush to blend. There shouldn't be any harsh lines. Brush your eyebrows up and don't fall for the pencil thin eyebrows. They're a fad and just tend to make your face look harsh. Same for the idea of tattooing the lids with permanent liner...do you really think you'll be wearing your liner the same way in 20 years? The advantage most Asians have is that their skin has a smooth poreless look to it. Invest in good skincare and be fastidious about it. No man likes to touch a face that's caked with makeup.

To all girls who don't have an eye crease! I would reccommend that you wear blush on the apples of your cheeks (make fish lips and then brush the bluch onto the most prominent part of the cheekbone.) Asians can look good with blush that is slightly overdone so don't stress unless you look like you've been slapped. Sometimes it even makes us look prettier because we don't look like a clown. And then just use a dark eye pencil (wet-n-wild eye pencil in gray) to line your top lid and then curl your lashes (Trim eyelash curler) and put on mascara. I like the kind with the small brush. And then take a reddish bronze color (I like Clinique Think Bronze) on the lips with a matching lipliner (wet-n-wild reddish bronze), and then brush gloss over the top. (wet-n-wild strawberry gloss.) And then use a good face powder (Covergirl face powder), and dust it on with a big powder brush. Make sure that you have a really good set of brushes. For concealer use a creamy foundation that is oil free (Mary Kay foundation), and use a latex sponge and blend all the way down to the cheekbone. And then while it is still damp use a powder puff to press a little bit of face powder in your color to set it. the same goes for covering up and blemishes or pimples. I really hope I helped out anyone out there who has a hard time making their makeup look good! P.S. Make sure that you do your makeup in really good light! Good Luck!

thugmissy,
i'm korean too and i don't have a crease either; anyways, i think creaseless eyes look best when there isn't a lot of work done; i just use sheer, creamy eyeshadows in all colors, depending on what kind of look i'm going for; but i only use one shade per lid. don't spread it all over; just go along with your natural lines and blend.
