I was thinking of buying that shiseido pureness and i hope it does work.

i also want to know, like lots of other asians, how to make a crease without having to go through surgery.
I came across in this oriental magazine, a thing that makes those lines. u use fork and glue. I want to buy it, but does it work?
And if you keep on using it, will your eyeline be permanent?

hey, you guys make it seem like every asian girl has no crease. I don't. And not every asian girl has small eyes.

Yeah, and black eyeliner on the top of your eyelid and mascara is all an asian girl needs. Ooh, and concealer.

About the eyelash curlers, I recently bought a Shiseido mini-curler (it's less than half the size of a regular curler) when I visited Japan but I have no idea how to use it. My normal sized curler works fine but people told me the mini-curler gives a better result yet I can't seem to get it to work! [I found that Shiseido products in Japan were A LOT less expensive! The curler was $6 American dollars, give or take a couple of cents. ;) So make sure you get some if you're planning to visit] Oh yea, someone please give me some tips on how to use this little gadget. :)
-Thanks!

EYELINER UPDATE!!!
Hey everyone, just wanted to make all you beautiful chickies aware of the fact that REVLON has revamped their COLORSTAY eyeliners such that the little liner stick now has a built in "mini-sharpener" which makes things terrifically precise! It's the same "roll-up" technology now with a little sharpener at the end of the pencil which you pull out--this allows you to achieve the same "just-opened sharpness," you need to draw amazing eyes. I really can't stop raving about this stuff--it really works non-stop for up to 12 hours!! You have to try it!

Kristine,

thanks for the advice, I have pale skin with rosy undertone, so yellow is not a problem for me.

I have a social outing this Friday with my boyfriend and some of his female friends, one of which had express romantic interest in him and before we dated he pondered on the thought. Must make sure he realize how good he's got it so his eyes (and hips) won't stray too far;-)

But if makeup and looking pretty fails, I'll just have to hurt him if he ever thought of straying.:-P

Actually, isn't it funny that girls never dress up for a guy but will dress up for another girl? I'm not worried about my boyfriend at all, I just want his "friend" to know where she stands.

As a asian woman, particularly a filipina. I have found out that there is no specific type of makeup steps to follow. The best thing to do is go to the department store, local grocery, or whatever you have at home and test out different makeup looks that make you feel good about yourself. Please keep in mind you are a beautiful asian lady, and just because we may not have a 'white girl' look, or creases like other races we are beautiful in our own way.

An option is Biotin supplements. You can get it at your local GNC or any other health store. Biotin supposedly increases hair and nail growth.

Asian woman i think have an advantage because their eyes are bigger and prettier than most white people. I am a little dark and i use black eyeliner on the upper eyelid just at the bottom than a light colour over that, about 3/4 up by eyelid.

Annika-
Sorry, I don't think there is any way to make your eyelashes actually GROW. If there was, someone would be very rich! :) There are certain prescription eye drops that have a side effect of making your eyelashes grow longer, but you can't use it for that purpose only.

It all depends on how much of an epicanthic fold one has on the eyes and whether one is an asian in the United States or one in Asia. I believe though, it doesnt matter what style or manner one applies their make up. Only that they feel attractive while wearing it. There is an attitude that is conveyed while wearing the many variations of make up styles.

Heyla! i'm a newbie here *holds up sign reading 'DON'T HAZE THE NEWBIE'* ^_^ I've read a lot of the comments here, and the trend seems to be geared towards those with no eye crease. I'm a little bit puzzled about all the controversy. What's it all about? I have what you would term as a creased eye, and i was wondering what kind of makeup is good for that.
Satanchia    Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 17:39:39 (PST)    [12.91.23.47]
what exactly defines asian eyes? and, how are we supposed to dispel =stereotypes if we aren't happy with the way we look? it's really aggravating...i have what could be considered "non-asian" eyes, and people have stopped to ask me if i've had surgery done, and how come my eyes don't look "like they're supposed to".
and, for the soft tap method of permanent makeup, one of our family friends had it done, and now, it's glaringly apparent and permanent.
person    Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 15:11:08 (PST)    [216.26.60.117]
I also have the disapearing/reappearing eye lid thing going but I think asian eyes look best when they are well accentuated with a clean-looking skin, a healthy glow (with or without blush) and color on the lips because we got a "whole package" thing going on with our look. when i want to draw attention to my eyes, though, i use a liquid eyeliner for a thin line across my lash line and then go over it with black eyeshadow to soften it up. Then i use a light brown color with a grey-base to it to create shadow where my brow bone ends and my finger sinks in across my lid and blend, blend, blend! I finish with several coats of mascara on curled lashes and a coat on the bottom to open up my eyes. If i want to look less done up, I'll skip the black shadow and the mascara on the bottom lid.

Hi ladybug
It's hard to give you any advice about how to make your eyes look bigger ( I guess thats what you want ), but a simple liner on your upper lids that you draw a little longer are a super way to do your eye make-up. And of course: mascara!!

To higlight your cheekbones, use rouge under your cheekbones... I prefer sun powder...but any colour is fine...

Has anyone had the Soft Tap method of permanent makeup done? In particular, the eyebrows. Soft Tap is a new method of permanent makeup which supposedly looks more natural than tattooing. If so, I'd like to know how long ago you had it done and if you are happy with the color. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the info on tattoing eyebrows. I think I'm going to do it. They have a popular asian salon here in SF that does it.

To CONFUSED regarding the eyelash curler. I use the Shiseido brand curler. I noticed my lashes stay curled longer as opposed to the Revlon curler I use to use. I tossed that one ever since I got the Shiseido one.

I am a philippino/caucasion mix and I have small eyes that are a strange colored brown, I also have a light tan skin color with a yellow undertone...
does anyone have any tips on how to make by brown eyes stand out? Also I didn't get the really high cheekbones, even though I have had people tell me I have them. Does anybody have any tips on how to make your cheekbones appear higher?w/b/a/s/a/p

i also have dark circles under my eye... to make it less noticable, i first dab almay's wake-up undereye concealer, then the physican's formula yellow concealer (that you mentioned) and also their concealer in my skintone (it was 'light' for me.)

and about the eyeliner deal, i always have to have my black eyeliner on, and sometimes i line my lower eyelids as well. my eyes are pretty big for an asian chick like myself anyways, and without it, my eyes look kinda 'dead' and bland. weird, eh?

Clinique's eyeliner is the Best Stuff ever! The waterproof kind with the smudger at the other end is fabulous. I just discovered it a couple months ago, after switching from the Clinique kind that doesn't have a smudger and you have to sharpen all the time to keep it sharp! The other kind stays on all day and I don't have the problem of it smearing or transferring to underneath my lower lashes!
