My idea of a comfortable...simple/casual..good looking outfit is as following; (For ages 16-21)

A White 3/4 sleeved shirt w/hood in the back...nice fitting...NOT LOOSE. (Generic Brand!!!!!!!!)
A pair of dark Blue jeans (Flared) 27,35( Size in Silvers)with a plain-looking Black belt (Made in China.)Some white tennis socks (lowcut at the ankle) with a pair of Black semi-formal shoes w/ 2 inch heels making me a total height of 5'7. ($12.99 Payless)
No accessories. "Cool Cherry" by Softlips in my Jean pocket.

Then I put my hair into two braids.

"the cheapest bargain I got was a ralph lauren shirt (original $68 on sale for $10) at macy's."

Pretty good. I got a pair of Express jeans on sale for THREE $s once. Cool...

I feel that White is the best color on Asian girls.
I would make my entire wardrobe(except for jeans) white if they are not so hard to be kept clean. Everytime I wear a white shirt...I'll alway get something on it...enrages me.

MLK,

Great points again!

I love the look of tunics but have learned that they actually make anyone who is not completely flat absolutely fat and wide. You're right about the necessity of slim shirts since anything else bunches up at the waist and hips, giving us an apparent extra 20 pounds!

As for back support, don't get me started. Those of us doing close manuscript reading (or old fashioned accounting) have to do most of our work hunched down, especially if your library doesn't have the right sort of facilities (i.e., lectern to prop the book.)

Hey, why not a stylish and sexy 18hr.- Playtex Studysupport Bra? Yeah, I can see it's gonna be *hot* competition for the Wonderbra...

be,

Looks like you've scooped up some good deals there!

I live in Chicago, so usually manage to find some sales at boutiques, department stores, and yes, Filene's Basement which usually has announcements in newspapers about designer merchandise arriving. Of course, most of the stuff is junk, but you can still get some gems.

Let's get some good-natured shopping rivalry going here! My stuff is still sometimes relatively pricy, but I always try to find it at most a third of its original price--unless it's something I'm desperate for.(Hey, I'd love to hear about other people's deals too!)

The stuff I'm quite proud of are: a J. Peterman silk Chinese dress and robe--fully embroidered--down from $700 (apiece) to $70 (apiece); another J.Peterman 100% wool suit from $400 to $30. This was all bought during a close-out sale emporium. (If you find a very good boutique that is closing down, that's the place to find just about the best deals with things reduced down to a tenth of the original price. But you will feel like a scavenger...)

Other decent stuff I got was a Ralph Lauren wool sweater dress marked from $180 to $60 at Marshall's. And a very nice black wool RL double-breasted cardigan from $180 to $45 at Bloomie's.

I like Banana Republic leathers, especially when compared to other leathers. How can one resist a pair of leather jeans reduced from $398 to $90? Especially when pants of comparable quality by designers cost upwards of $500?

But the best deal I ever got by far was a pair of Gap jeans reduced from $32 to $2 even tho' they were a bit too short. Yes, $2.(But those were the days when I could wear slim size 0 jeans...!)

I agree w/ you on the tight capris and tight shirts for the most part: the only time when tight and tight are OK is when it's a complete matching outfit (i.e., made to go together)

As for dark tops and light bottoms, it's OK if you're relatively large-busted. (I'm never happier than when I'm taken for an A or B cup!) This happens when I wear black tops. I think the general rule of thumb is that larger, wider parts of the body should be encased in darker colors.

Now for my pet peeves and tips: I think the one major sin is wearing clothes too tight: I can't tell you how many women I've seen wearing jeans so tight that there are creases up and down their legs. Maybe those are the only jeans they have, but they oughta cover up the fact that they are so tight with a very long duster or something else!

Tips: If you're under 5'6", petites are sometimes the best option when it comes to designer fashions. I've noticed that designers tend to put their "regular" sized clothes on models who are 5'8" to 5'10" so that all the proportions are different for us average folks: in other words, regular is really for tall people. If you want to look exceptionally leggy, the trick is to buy the top petite and the pants regular. (Just make sure the sleeves are long enough.)

be,

"the shape of my nipples would be visible through my shirt"

You can get those fashionable medical bandages they sell now to cover up unslightly nipple protrusion.

AC Dropout

Wow, I envy your medical knowledge! Are you sure you didn't go to med school and then just decided that it didn't make enough money to suit your lifestyle? OK, you've convinced me that I don't need to do anything drastic. I think death is not becoming to my complexion. Losing a nipple is not a beautiful thing either.

AC Dropout,

You are a man of the world. How do you know so much stuff? Random stuff?! I can't believe you know so much about breast reduction surgery...what really got me was your reference to the "areola". Guys are not supposed to know what an areola is...

You are a very interesting man. I find your posts eternally amusing. I learn from you.

One big fashion faux pas I've seen a lot recently is very overweight AFs wearing either see-through shirts or tight clothing in general. This is not flattering, and it doesn't make them look thinner. I think that if you are overweight, loose clothes look better. I see girls wearing these skin tight shirts that show fat rolls, when they'd be better off with a little looser sweater.
