Let's put it straight.
A real Manchu should look like a Korean.
Now, there are many Manchus who have Han features. Due to intermixture even before the Ching conquests of China if you had studied the colonial history of Liaotung and Manchuria from Han to Ming period.
Shaanxi people have more rough skin compared to Beijing people. I have seen it in the old people of Xian. Sand storms are common in that part of China. And, it takes its toll on the skin after so many years. The people of Shaanxi are rarely fat or rotund. Many are tall and lanky. And, many grow facial hair. Their Mongol features are not as strong as those in Beijing, let alone Jilin. Although you do see occasional West Asian or Tibetan influences. They look like a mixture of the people in the southwest Yangtze (Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangxi) and the Central Asians.

out of curiosity, how can one tell if they are manchurian or han? i thought the manchurians basically just mixed in with the rest of the population after the fall of their dynasty.
also, are manchurians basically mongolians? i thought the two groups were distinct.
this stuff just interests me. please share your knowledge.

The Chinese adage goes that beautiful women are from Hunan.
Never been there so I can't say.
But it just hype. Whether old or new hype.
If someone pluck 10 beautiful women from 10 different cities in China, and we discovered that all 100 women had ancestors from the same province, I would be really shocked.
Honestly, having travel around asia a bit. If you like girls with western application of make-up and fashion, Japan, HK, and Korea are the places. The rest of Asia is pretty lacking when it comes to using make up in the general populaion.

anyways, i'm not going to bash cantonese because there is no reason for me too. I think Chinese should stick together. But you are obviously crazy when you think that Manchurians are not Chinese, and that Northern Hans actually consider Cantonese closer than Manchus.
Manchus who are nomads and live on poor nutrition may be shorter, but the ones who grow up in the cities with the same diets as Northern Hans are just as or TALLER.

Stop pretending like you know mandarin~~ go back to manchuria. And the statistics of beijing woman are not 5'4 nor is it 5'7-5'8. It is just that area is known to be very tall. That gives you a sense of the really tall ladies of beijing. And if you say i make up things to support my point, NoPe~~ Never ever! It is my true feelings. 5'5 ideal? shaanxi, beijing, jilin no distincition? and if you notice it, sensitivity in judging beauty? *sigh* You remind me of the girl in my class who looks like a pork chop and thinks she is qualified as the pretty girls in the school...
Manchurians inferiour in beauty ,height, intelligence, cultural identity, to any other group of chinese people.(except for the surrounding barbarian tribes.)
