"My beau is 5"8-9, and most of the time, I don't feel like it's enough."

Haha.... its always the short ones that have this need to feel protected. My g/f is 5'9" / Korean, I'm 6'0" and Korean too. She's kind of a pain in the ass because shes so fiercely independent and stubborn, and she NOT afraid of anything. I think that has something to do with her height and physical presense. But hey, shes a hottie and shes sweeter than honey, so I aint complaining. But maybe taller women have less insecurities/feel that they can take care of themselves physically.

I like taller women, definately.    Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 02:44:24 (PDT)
bebe girl,

I think the average young Korean guy averages about 5'9", perhaps a shade taller. This goes for both Koreans in America and Koreans in S. Korea. I'm 5'8.5", kinda on the short side for a Korean dude. But hey, I think I have some other redeeming qualites, so its all good.

"do you agree with this philosophy to abort fetuses with known genetic defects, or do you just have babies left and right regardless of known genetic conditions and pay the expenses regardless?"

Another question. Do you agree to abort a fetus, even when healthy with no genetic defect, and can take care of itself at adulthood, because it is FEMALE?

Yes, it's true. Female babies, even when perfectly healthy, are still being abandoned or killed because the Chinese govt is allowing it. Oh sure, they have this ban on machines that determine
the sex of a fetus, but that is nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Female infanticide still continues rampantly, and the govt, which is more concerned with arresting and executing political prisoners, and controlling the media, does so little about it.

Or is this negligence intentional? The govt is trying to reduce the population, but what better way to do it by reducing the female population faster, thus hasten the decline of birth rates. Nationwide, there are 117 boys born to every 100 girls. When they reach the marrying age, that means 15 percent of the men won't find a wife. What a way to knock off a good chunk of the population right there. Also, the women, facing an overabundance of men, will be more selective. Naturally, good genetic traits, including height, are desired.

As the Chinese doctor said in the www.pop.org site, "Males are freely chosen by females, and 10% of them are not likely to find a wife. When they die, their bad genes are eliminated. In the next generation, there will be fewer child-bearing women. After two or three generations the population will go down sharply and the quality go up sharply."

I really want to grow taller and I don't know if I have a chance. I am fourteen years old and my height is 5'3". My dad is 5'8" and my mom is 5'5". Do you think I might still grow? What is the average height for 14-15 year old girls? Anyone know?

waterbottle,

Thanks, gal!

po,

>You're 5'6 but hoping to grow taller? >But you say that such envy is a big >circle that gets you nowhere?

>Then I guess you like going in circles?

What can I say? Circles are better than all the other shapes.

To be serious, sure I envy my taller friends. I have to look up at them all the time. I realise that envy gets you nowhere, and you just end wishing for something you don't have, but I'm fifteen, I envy them because I still believe that I'm not stuck at this height for life.

A little bit of envy never hurt anyone, but don't get obsessed over it. If I suddenly grew two inches, would I be pleased? Definitely. Would I still find something else I wanted? You bet. Would I be happy being 5'6" for the rest of my life? Sure, why not? I'd like to be taller, but then I'd like to be alot of things. The fact tht I might not get there doesn't faze me. You play the hand you get dealt. Even if I had stopped growing at 5'2" or something, I don't think it would change my attitude. But then, I'll never really know.

>Your friend who is 5'7 envies a girl >5'10? Unless your friend is a model, >wants to be a model, plays volleyball >or basketball, not many girls want to >to be 5'10 giants.

She plays basketball. Actually, she really doesn't like the 5'10" girl and hates the idea of looking up to her. But she wants to be tall for herself too, she's just one of those confident beautiful people who like standing out, and when you're 5'10", no matter what ethnicity, you do stand out.

>Why let "short guys determine your >self esteem"? Heh, that's a new one.

I know you didn't imply this, but re-reading my own message, I just want to specifiy that I'm NOT dumping on short guys. They've probably got sh*t of their own to deal with because everyone expects guys to be tall. I'm saying, don't let other people make you feel insecure, and part of kindatall_azn_girl's problem was that she felt too tall for the guys around her. You're never too tall, or too short or anybody. You're just right for yourself.
(Dear lord, I sound like a self-help book here.)

HTY

so u wanna get taller? eh? I've heard some people said that's there's some sort of protein shake or something else that makes you grow taller, I think it work of some people I guess up the the age of early twenties like 21,22,23 etc.my ex-boyfriend, he went to USC, they have some sort of hormone that make u grow taller, and he took it I guess and he grow so much. In his senior year he was 5'5", the first 1.5 years of college he spring up to 5'8.5", so that's pretty much, and then he did some sort of weight lifting and so I guess he shrink and inche, hehehe confusing huh?, u could do a research on it, I'm not sure the name of it though. I heard that it only work for some people, it's worth a try for u anyway.
