This place not just for guys right? girl can join too.

Get Real,

Jean Claude van Dam is for real. He can do split kicks in mid air, and gorgeous turn kick. No wire help.

When he was young, he learned ballet and gymnastic. Till teenager, he started to be interested in Karate. Then took taekwondo also. His ballet and gymnastic based skill is a plus for him to easy learning of Martial arts moves.

I took gymnastic since I was 5 years old, now I'm a black belt in Taekwondo. I'm not trying to be stuck-up here. But I can do what Van Dam does. Split the legs straight and jump to in mid air or turn flying kicks. I really found that my gymnastic skill based is a plus for doing the leg kicks movements in taekwondo.

Bruce Lee is also great. But for me JC Van Dam is always the man.

Ooops typo I was supposed to say that many Samoans are part Chinese because Chinese men settled in Western Samoa as labored workers in the early 1900s. You will notice big muscular golden brown men with Chinese surnames and you will remember what I just told you.

Many Samoans are part Chinese because of the many Samoan men who settled in the early 1900s. I know there is an ancient Samoan martial art called Lima Lama, which is practised today.
I believe that Samoan beat the hell of Tank Abbot because Abbot had earlier bragged and gloated about knocking out a Samoan at UFC.
Get Real said about Samoans that 'most are hospitable'. Hahaha yea just dont get one mad that's all. In 1985 Los Angeles Times called the Sons of Samoa gang the 'most dangerous gang in Southern California' and all Samoans living here gained notoriety from that, just for being Samoan.
Oh and by the way Bruce Lee will always be the man.

SOG,

Yes I see your point. I believe the movie martial art training should also be complimented by video game training.

In video game martial training one needs to understand timing, footwork, and hand eye coordination. Not to mention various super chi projection techniques and killer combos.

Bruce Lee can be easily defeated. Just study Tekken's Lei and all his moves will be predictable.

So I recommend religous viewing of Van Dam movies and a 2 rolls of quarter at the video arcade, to become the ultimate martial artist.

The mode of martial arts training seems to be adjusted to the racial temperament of those who train. Otherwise Tamil Kalaripayat, Chinese martial arts, Silat or Capoeira would not be so different from each other.

Marital arts movies give a very wrong impression about combat. In the movies mostly a few punches or kicks dispells most attackers easily. Many people are deceived into thinking their combat capability are much higher than reallity.

The truth is most people can take many punches, especially from untrained fighters. Traditional fighters that never had true combat experience are shocked when their three punch kick combo fails to knock out their attacker or even faze them. The result is they enter a fight with a overestimate of their abilities and leave a bloody mess.

Please Jean Claude Van (as he does his faggety split kick in mid air like he just can't do and normal flying kick)DAMN !

Most those guys use martial arts to make their moves look more exciting on film. With the exception of Bruce Lee who was a true martial artist to begin with and had the rare talent to tranlating it to film, most are just wantabees who happened to got on the martial arts bandwagon when it start to be popular.

Shaolin Spirit:

You Damn right that those Samoans are tough many have naturally big builds and natural fighting ability. Thank god they are part asian and most are hospitable. You wouldn't want to be the receiving end of a Hawaiian punch. Lots of white people are fearful of them when they go to Hawaii more so than the Blacks. Its funny to see peoples reactions on them seeing a Huge Samoan. First is disbelief to see a Asian Islander that huge and also when some tell you that they haven't even lifted a single weight in their life is even the more impressive.
