I met a few Hawiian hapa girls in college. They are definitely more friendly than you typical asian girl in the USA mainland. Could be the environment on the island.

Once I figure out how to move my office from NYC. Hawaii is the next port of call for me.

Dumbass, people are leaving the Bay because it is a ghetto filled with delusional angry goofs like yourself. It's just a bunch of snotty whites with 0 personality and no respect for Asians other than getting the occassional Asian nookie. You know it too, deep inside lemming.

It's so pathetic in the Bay Area, Asians live in tiny condos due to limited income and heavy glass cielings imposed by the icy humorless closet racist whites up there. It's almost as bad as Seattle. Whites on the other hand live in nice, well ok, houses and get promoted to positions of power and hold Asians back, wake up. The racism is so calm and subtle, yet so intense you probably whine all day to your family about it. Come on. This is no where so dramatic as in the Gay Area's tech industry.

LA has cool Whites (not icy Bay Area snobby Boston-like closet racist whites with no sense of humor), Asians who kick ass and run the show with their own businesses and plenty of nice places to live.

I don't know how it is with you dorks in the Bay but Asians get along with Mexicans in LA just fine, especially the chicas. HAHAHAHA... who's leaving in droves? How do you explain the shortage of housing? In the Bay, there are 2 new houses for each new job. In Smell Lay, there are 8 new houses for each new job. If everyone is going down there, how come there is such a surplus in housing? The only ones who are leaving for Smell Lay are the broke asses who can't afford to live here. Well, Malays and Indonesians are definitely pretty similar, genetically and linguistically. Filipinos are a bit farther away. Actually I don't think they're that far geneticallly, but they seem to look pretty different. The languages are pretty similar, at least according to my grandmother who grew up speaking Malay and learned Tagalog later.

Are there really that many Hawaiians transplants around the Bay Area lately? I haven't really spent any extended amount of time back home since high school, though hopefully I'll be able to find some work around there this summer vacation.

TH: So, you are a Chinese Malay yourself? Hey, are Filipinos descendants of Malays? Please excuse my ignorance, but I always thought they weren't all that different. The same goes with Indonesia.

Jay: There are tons of Hawaiians, Samoans, Tongans, etc. living in the Bay. There are hula dancing and ukelele schools all around. There are also some annual festivals. In my job, I encounter a lot of people from Hawaii moving to this area (most of them Hawaiian girls with haoles). I may be wrong, but I think most people from Hawaii who move to the mainland end up in this area. It does get a lot colder here, but at least you won't freeze your ass off like in other places.

Anyways, the other day, this Japanese Hawaiian girl came in with her haole bf, and she was really flirty, even with her man right by her side. And he didn't even care. I was like, damn, you won't see that around CA very often. Someone would have gotten socked before long. haha Are most Hawaiian girls like that?

Move down to LA and all your problems will solve themselves Bay area loonies. We need more of your type to scrub our toilets down here. SF and Silicon Valley are the two most overated areas in the country and people are leaving in droves because they just found out. LA #1.
