WHAT YOU SAY

"I used to work in Tommy Hilfiger Company, I was in the sales and legal department for the Asian Market. I did visit many Tommy facilities and divisions in Japan, China, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Currently, the company is at loss with that region, much of the business there has been quiet."

Damn, that is (or was) pimp, dude! I would love to have a job like that. Yeah, Tommy isn't that hot anymore. The hip hop crowd these days would rather got for Phat Farm and Roca. The skater crowd has Etnies, Ezekiel, and DC.

You should apply for Hollister Company. Yeah, they are owned by A&F, but A&F is one of the few clothing companies actually making a profit. I still think the protest thing was all a conspiracy. All they did was give the company more exposure. There must have been some hidden agenda there. Hey, one thing I have noticed about some clothing companies is they always say, "Since 1894" or whatever, but you have never heard of the brand until last year! The only company I can think of that is really that old is Levi's.

"I never bothered with the tours to begin with because they take away your freedom to venture around especially in US cities."

I know what you mean. The best way to explore a city is to act as if you live there, and just immerse yourself in the culture for a couple weeks. If you don't have time, the tours are great though. We took a tour from Seattle that went to Vancouver (we've been to this region many times before, so this part wasn't that great), Banff, Athabasca Glacier, Calgary, Edmonton, and some other cool places in western Canada. We also took one that went to Yellowstone. Let me tell you. Yellowstone and Banff are heaven on earth. They are the most beautiful sights you will ever see. Grand Canyon... bleh.

"As for the Chiu Jaus, they don't work for anyone but themselves. Chiu Jaus in HK are untouchable, they run their own drug distributions and businesses without anyone messing with them. Like the Fujianese, these folks are very cohesive and aggressive so it's hard to f*ck with them."

Oh, okay. It's totally different out here. Like I said, HK and Toi Sans rule on the west coast, so we don't have much beef with Chiu Jaus or Fukienese. Our only rivals are Taiwanese. The gang situation was at a breaking point in the early 90's. The Toi San/ABC gangs (Wah Ching, JSB) had a stronghold on all elicit activities. Then, the triads from HK (Wo Hop To) came in, and it was all out warfare. They were basically just killing each other off. Then, they got together to form an umbrella organization, but the DA stepped in. Then, they tried to off him, unsucessfully. That's when the big crackdown began. It's been quiet for several years, but trouble is brewing once again.

"BTK...Born to Kill...Chinese affliations? I never heard of that. In NYC they were not affliated with any crediable Chinese Tongs."

Hmm... I could be wrong, but I remember reading their biography (a great book, by the way), and it mentions their alliances with Chinese.

"Maybe being hostile is part of the interview process to see how you handle it when with a client."

That's true, but they were downright rude. They talked to me in a condescending tone, and acted as if I were some chump just walking in off the street. I was well qualified for the position. I didn't have too many high hopes for this job anyways. It's one of those long hours commission, sales positions. However, I will never blame not getting a job or anything else in life due to race. That's the easy way out. I just take it all in stride. Like AC said, you win some, you lose some. If I don't get something because of who I am this time, maybe I WILL get something because of it next time.

I have never liked ABC girls anyways. If I get with a Chinese girl, it would be with an HK or Taiwanese. Even though I'm ABC, I just can't get along with ABC girls.

Actually, Fujianese don't work for the HK triads. They have their own network. During the early 90s Fujianese Gangs and Toi San gangs were at all out war with one another in Chinatown. The Fujianese kept smuggling droves of people like an angry swarm of bees that the Toi San gangs couldn't do anything about it. Eventually these turf wars were no longer fought due to the clean up phase of the Guiliani administration of the mid 90s. The Fujianese are now already dominating the lower part of NY's Chinatown, and much of the Cantonese population are moving out into other areas.

As for the Chiu Jaus, they don't work for anyone but themselves. Chiu Jaus in HK are untouchable, they run their own drug distributions and businesses without anyone messing with them. Like the Fujianese, these folks are very cohesive and aggressive so it's hard to f*ck with them.

Those Chinese ladies w/ white hubbies screwing Asians, well, that phenomenon is much more common in the West Coast. We get dat sh*t too...I have a friend who was interviewed by an AF (last name was Cho-Steinberg) in a law firm who is married to a Jewish dude and she basically rejected him right on da spot. She screwed him by saying he was better off being a techie and not a lawyer. Here's the deal, when applying for a job, don't try to get a spot where there is an AF in charge. Often, they aren't interested in AM candidates. To them, you're wasting their f*cking time!

I did one time get snubbed in a job fair by an Asian dude from a tech company who with a bunch of WFs by his side. This a$$=0= felt that he was too good for Asians because he was with a group of attractive White girls. Many Asians and I filed a complaint on him. Now how lame is it for someone to have an attitude like him? I heard he was later reprimanded for his unacceptable behavior. Action need to be taken on AFs who act in this manner as well.

I used to work in Tommy Hilfiger Company, I was in the sales and legal department for the Asian Market. I did visit many Tommy facilities and divisions in Japan, China, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Currently, the company is at loss with that region, much of the business there has been quiet.

I think I should book a tour if I head out to Seattle. I don't know anyone out there so it might be fun with a group of people. I never bothered with the tours to begin with because they take away your freedom to venture around especially in US cities. I did however book some tours when I was out in China and I'm sure you know why.

TSJ,

I don't know. There are a lot of blacks and Latinos in LA and look at how they are treated. White folks have learned to be subtlety racist, which in some ways is more dangerous. Pubicly they say the right things. But in private they resent having so many Asians around and will do what they can to prevent Asians from getting ahead. Remeber the real decisions and impact is made behind closed doors.

TSJ,

BTK...Born to Kill...Chinese affliations? I never heard of that. In NYC they were not affliated with any crediable Chinese Tongs.

Maybe being hostile is part of the interview process to see how you handle it when with a client.

Oh well, win some; lose some.

I usually get the worst vibe from asian women, who think I might be more asian than them sometimes. But I usually try to sympathize by tell them a story of reverse discrimination I've experienced and they tell me theirs. But sometimes those type of women are just lost causes and set in their ways.
