Wow! Tough Asian guys kicking the crap out of white guys: now, that's a change! Western TV disgusts me in that now shows WF's kicking the shit out AM's. (BTW, one of the reasons I liked Charlie's Angels movue was that Lucy Liu did some mighty good combat w/ the white guy. But even then, he had to wait for ultimate defeat w/ the three women.)

Name a few of the movies portraying whites as villains. I would like to check them out. (Altho if there are no subtitles and they're not available from Blockbuster's, I probably won't have much luck...)

Actually, I boycotted the Jodie Foster/Chow Yun Fat when it came out, but who knows? There might come a nice lazy afternoon.

Hold your horses B.Lee. Reading between the lines I'd say you're not fond of porn. I hope more fine Asian babes continue to act in porn. I also hope AD's wish is granted and more fine Asian babes are featured in mainstream movies and mags. Dudes win both ways.
But it's always been my contention that magazines(such as Seventeen, Vogue, and so on) and movies which essentially says gaunt chicks are beautiful and fat chicks aren't have done more harm to American girls than porn has.

I heard of the D way. But it's the 21st century. I always used a tape record to help catch and remove any accent in my speech.

Well you could watch a few movies from HK or China. Whites are portrayed as villians. And some tough Asian guys just kick the crap out of them. So it is Asains and Whites pandering to Asian fantasies.

I don't particulary like old musicals, so The King and I is not the top of my list of Broadway shows. But you could catch Chow Yun Fat/Jodie Foster 'Anna and the King,' it a more modern interpretation of the same story.

I don't know if sitcoms are your cup of tea. But you should catch 'off centre' on the WB. They have this Asian character in there that is not pandering to any particular racial sterotype.

The best thing about the Chicagoland area is Vernon Hills,IL. The reason is because Ellen Cho, from Road Rules 10: The Quest for the Crest lives there.

She is a HOT BABE and is totally cool.

I saw the play in Chicago, tho' I forget which production it was. (It was back in '91, I think.)

Sounds like the guy playing the pimp did a Demosthenes, the Greek stutterer (I think) from w-a-y back who thought the best way to get rid of his speech impediment was by putting marbles in his mouth. Lord Chesterfield, the 18th.c statesman who wrote loadsa letters to his bastard son (including how to bathe), also recommended the D way to him.

I guess there's something to be said for supporting an Asian cast, but I hate the notion of Asians pandering to white fantasies of domination. It's for the same reason I really didn't want to see the King and I (white woman subduing an Asian man).

I've lived and asia for a while. And all the mag there have beautiful asian women on them. Asia is like US in 60's when it comes to models. It is not trying to make them into super models. They are just pretty faces in a magazine trying to sell stuff.

I mean the asian super models of the west are down right ugly by asian standards.

There are fashion shows in Tokyo, Shanghai, HK, and Taiwan every year with a gaggle of asian run way models. I was invited to one by one of my clients. I hope my drool didn't ruin any of the business conducted at the show. These shows in Asia currently do not get as much exposure as those in Europe or America. But ask the average Asian who Heidi and Claudia and they will go "who?"
