We just moved into an apartment complex that is pretty much mixed. There alot of mexicans, and vietnamese people that have moved here. We live in a southern town, its just now starting to get more mixed here. I think its a good thing. I do want a house though! I like privacy! Whenever it gets a little warm outside, it seems like the entire complex is outside! LOL!

I agree with you Low Fat Milk that Black women do have silky skin. But I prefer light skin black females with pretty long hair. They are the most beautiful to me.

There are a few things that I believe I wanted to comment on when I began reading this string of posts.
Firstly, I am very very happy to see that more and more women are not running after men to "force" them into love. Not only is that a rather pointless pursuit but it's tiring and no man, no matter what ethnicity or how "fine" he is, is worth your dignity or self worth.

The one factor that I have noticed with a proponderance of the women posting on Goldsea is the total lack of disregard for their own standards and aspirations. It's always about what the ASIAN man wants, what the ASIAN man likes, what the ASIAN man needs and all I'm thinking is...WHAT THE FUCK? What about what YOU want, what YOU like, and what YOU need?
In some desperate attempt for a chance at having an Asian man's praise I see these women fighting over skin color and long hair styles versus short.

I DON'T see any Asian men fighting over our likes and dislikes. I don't see any Asian men listing off their credentials, degrees, and awards. Why should they? All they have to do is announce that they are Asian and guaranteed every single woman on the forum will be on them like white on rice.

I think as Black women we need to focus more on ourselves and our own advancement in a society that deems us unworthy of education and monetary wealth.
I'm not saying these things will lead to happiness, but I'm certainly saying that one must be able to, as Truewater said, find themselves before seeking themselves in others. Leave the men alone. They come and go and 20 dollars can get you a cup of man at the nearest sperm bank.

And before someone becomes all--Who the hell does she think she is-- and blahdy blah, yes I do have a boyfriend, but he knows that my books and my goals come WAY before him.

Is it really true about the first generation and second generation thing in asian cultures? I have heard people use that expression before, when it comes to families and exceptance. Can someone please explain that to me?

Not true,

Yes California is diverse but there's not a lot of AM/BF couples here. I haven't seen any at all. Unless you live like downtown LA, there's nothing. Most of these communities keep to themselves.

I have heard that california is such a pretty place. I have to get out there to see it. I didn't know there were alot of the mixed couples out there. But then again, it does make alot of sense. There are alot more diversity in cultures out there. So I guess it would be more of a common thing. I will definitely have to check it out. Thankyou Farah and Smiley Face :)

In both Southern and Northern California, interracial dating is so common and seen everywhere. People don't really care anymore. I've seen every type of pairing you could imagine here.

Why is it that when it comes to Asian & black mixing, black people like the long hair & facial features of the children, but refuse to truly accept the Asian parent? My family has done this too. They'll make racist jokes about my Korean boyfriend's ethnicity but then will say, "Well, at least the grandkids will have long hair." It is such an ignorant thing.
