WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
3/4 white woman 1/4 black woman:
Yes, I have heard other black women say to me that I am white...or some say "high yellow" and to some its "honky white" "yellow trash" In white peoples eyes I am not considered white either. To them I am still "high yellow" "nigger white"...Yes I have heard it all before down in good ole Southern Mississippi. So it would really be stupid of me to try to be white, because that is not what I am. I just stay myself. I don't 'try' to be anything but myself. I am a product of both parents. And yes...
Black blood is strong, one drop of that and your black and nothing more. Remember that one drop rule? It hasn't left folks.
I don't know about Mariah Carey, because I am not her. I do know that she was raised by her white mother...and not actively by her black brazillian father. Alicia Keys...well, I don't know her either personally. But I do know that she chooses to be whatever she chooses...I don't really know about her.
I was raised by both of my parents, my black one and my white one. I love them both, and I acknowledge them both. I dont deny either one of them, they have always been actively in my life. I think it makes a big difference when you have both strong parental influences in your life.
JTHM:
I agree 100% with you. I have light hair and light eyes. I have two younger brother's with dark hair, darker skin than me, and dark eyes. And they are by blood, we have the same parents. I even know some people with mixed backgrounds who don't have parents of an interracial marriage, but just the background is mixed and they have light skin, some with medium and some with medium to mediumish dark...hair textures vary, all sorts of things. So, I am very aware of the differences. I do agree with you very much. I still think the comments made by nubian goddess was insulting not just to biracial women...it was insulting to light skinned women period...even ones who are light, medium or whatever. Because not everybody is real real dark skinned and she was saying that whoever is not that dark...and even whoever doesn't have hair like hers is beneath her. I think its pretty lopsided to think like that, to put yourself over others to feel better about herself. I don't think I am better than anyone. I just wasn't brought up that way.
Tiffany Estrada:
Just because someone has an insecurity problem within herself, it has nothing to do with me being who I am. I wouldn't have let someone like that get me down, and discourage me in any way. There are always racists on this earth and there will always be. Thats just the way it is.
Everyone, why are we even discussing this???? Is this really all so important? So some of us are a little lighter and some of us are a little darker. So what! We obviously have something in common (I am talking to the non-racist people) We obviously have an interest in AM and BW? Right? We have that in common. Why can't we focus on that? Why are we so focused on the color hue wheel? Its a waste of time. This preoccupation with it. I don't even hear any men saying anything about it. It seems to be mostly women who have such a big problem with other women on here. Its crazy. Why are some of the women so damned concerned with other women on here? I mean, don't get me wrong...an issue was brought up. Of course everyone is going to respond. But why is it that its 'all' women that have such an issue about this?

Why are you wasting your time responding to this Nubian Goddess turd?
Can't you see that idiot only came here to start trouble?
First, they can't spell worth a damn and their reasoning is equal to that of someone who is retarded, so you're dealing with an uneducated fool and dumb fools are best ignored!
Leave fools alone!

Azn Mack,
Wow! Your story sounds like the beginning of a movie! I love the fact that you guys had the whole hand thing going on fron the start -- it's so Romeo and Juliet.
Why would she go with the hater friend, you ask? It sounds to me like you two made such an intense connection, she probably needed to go cool off for a moment. Also, even though you may have rocked her world with that little convo, she doesn't know you, and she did come there with her hater friend. And who knows, maybe her friend was afraid to be left alone all night while you two continued playing hand games...
But you ARE going back to that place right? Cause I'll bet she's gonna go back to look for you. And who knows what'll happen the next time you two meet up?
Peace and love for all,

And are there any men on this poll? Or is this an all female poll now?
Because if this HAS been changed to an all female poll now, then I think I might have to bounce! All of this bicker bicker argue argue junk.

Those of us who are in interracial relationships-
what have your experiences been like? How do you view interracial children?
Does he get along with your parents?
How did you meet your love?
And if you are not in an interracial relationship, but are just interested in them...
What sparked your interests?
Where you raised in an open minded family to accept these type of relationships?
Where does religion play a part in your views on healthy interracial views?
These are just some examples of what could be discussed, instead of all of this (Hating on other women) discussion.
If not, then maybe some other people have some other ideas that we could use for discussion-
Perhaps to get away from this whiney whiney game of skin color and pettiness.

Is this the AM and BW polls? Because I am confused. Its really a shame. All of the unecessary discussion, over unecessary things. Just because some girl has a severely low self esteem, we have to discuss all of this light skin dark skin thing? Why doesn't she just see a therapist, that will help her. And then we can all get back to talking about AM and BW.
