Who said you were the perfect standard of beauty? Thats just your high opinion of yourself. Personally, I don't care. I am not trying to hook up with you. I am into AM. I could care less about other females. You seemed overly concerned though.

I cant say I discrimminate when it comes to AM. I dont do that sort of thing with anyone.
I have dated alot of Chinese and Filipino men. There were alot of them where I used to live at. Now I am dating a Korean man who is really sweet and such a gentleman. I do notice there is a difference with AM, within the culture lines of like being Chinese or Vietnamese or whatever. There is a big difference between all of them. Facial features and everything. I can't really say that I have a particular preference as far as ethnicity. The man I am with now is really a good man. We just sort of clicked with each other.

While the reason for your angst filled self righteous rant can be easily gleaned from the social/racial annals of the society in which you were raised, what is also VERY evident is the extent of your own brain washing. Essentially what you've done in your overly long post was boil down the complexity, the essence, the meat of being "black" to how slim, dark, full lipped, mellon-breasted, kinky haired and round assed a person is. Like everything else in American culture, all that you are hinges on your physical appearance, to hell with the spiritual and psychological...you are such a product of Western Colonization that its painful to read. To bolster your own faltering ego you stoop to trivializing the identities of millions of other black people just because they don't "look" like you. Funny, according to the social history here, that sounds like a rather "white" thing to do.

Sadly I've seen a few women who looked like the "Nubian Goddess" you described, and as soon as they opened their mouths and exposed the atrophied state of their consciousness, it became quite evident that they were frauds. Now I have yet another example to add to the steaming pile.

Hi,

I know this is off the topic, but Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was laid to rest today.
I've been crying ever since I heard the news last Thursday that she got killed.
I live in Atlanta and went to her funeral, but I came so late that by the time I got there, the church was already full so I had to stand outside.

I've been to TLC's concerts and had gotten autographs by all three members.

Lisa even gave me a hug. I can't understand why someone as sweet as Lisa had to die so soon. She's an angel now, but she's going to be miss.

Guess what? I met another hot sister today! This one is cute and with a perfect, perfect body with shiny chocolate skin. I happen to think that Black females have far better shaped bodies than others. She is just too sexy. Now I will have to get to know her better. The other sister has also a hot body and angel face. I am going to try to know them better before making any moves. Thanks for your advice!

You asked if there is a preference? I have in the past leaned more towards the guys being Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, etc. I do and have kind of leaned more towards those type than the East Asian Indian (although I've dated one, but he grew up in London, so he was a little different from most of the Indians I'd encountered and have continued to encounter), and some of the other types. That doesn't mean I wouldn't give them a try, I just seem to find myself more in the company of what people use to refer to the "orientals" (I'm curious, where did the term Oriental come from and why is it so insulting? I haven't done my research on that particular topic yet. I had a Korean professor that said she found it really insulted to be called oriental, but I never learned the reason as to why. Mind shedding a little light on that for me).
Being around mostly Korean, Japanese, and Chinese these days, I've gotten pretty good at distinguishing who from who. Every now and again, I met one that kind of throws me off a little. There's this one Korean guy I work with, but when I first saw him, I thought he was Chinese. Of course, I wasn't paying that much attention to his features at the time either. I was too busy with customers to really look at him the first time. But afterwards, it was obvious. I've not had that much contact with Filipinos, other than my step-mom, a good friend of my aunt's, and a girl from my small group communication course that I'm about to be finished with (I finish with finals tomorrow-thank goodness).
Anyway, everyone has a preference of some kind.

Can we please get over this light/brown mixed vs. dark, nubian goddess crap? It's really old and pathetic and I'd rather talk about other things. I'm sure other people would too. No one has a right to say what someone is, I don't care what the color is. Color is just your race and what you're seen as. Not your damn ethnicity. Whoever continues to post about color seems to have some insecurity issues. If you are indeed true black or "Nubian" you should create your own poll for African Women and Asian men. Because Black women come in varities. No Black American is 100% black and skin color does not identify you as being truly black. I never post, but I'm sick and tired of people discussing this issue, and the male posting has indeed decreased. I agree with Farah and Third Eye. You're only perpetuating the stereotypes of Black women and we're supposed to be breaking the stereotypes. SistaMoonKitty proposed a challenge for us to meet as many AM/BF we can this week, which is a great idea. I propose this: I dare everyone to change the subject and no longer post to this skin color subject matter. Ready, Set, Go!

"Do you really think the more you're rejected, the less you'll fear rejection? Please, please, tell me your reasons behind that. I am very curious."

I got this magic tip from a friend of mine who seems to spend a good portion of his days beating the women off with a stick. He told me that he used to be a little hesitant and afraid to approach some girls for fear of getting rejected, but one day he set out to collect rejections instead of digits. He couldn't go home unless he got 5 rejections that night. In other words, he decided to see the rejection as progress rather than a set back. So after he did this for a while, he found that 1) He stopped taking the rejection so personally 2) He realized how much fun it was to pursue girls whether they reciprocated or not 3) He started getting digits because he was so relaxed and positive about the process. And because the more people you ask out, the greater chance someone will say yes.

I've seen him in action too -- he just starts up a conversation and talks to the girl as a person, not as a guy mackin' on a female. The girl gets excited that someone is actually interested in her as person and not just a "available female" or a blonde or a set of boobs or whatever. He's a very good listener and I think that even if the conversation doesn't lead to anything, the girls feel a little better about themselves and are more likely to seek him out next time. Of course some girls don't respond at all, but who cares?

Cake! Why didn't I think of that? I once took a 3-hour trip to Brooklyn just to get the strawberry shortcake at Junior's. My golden prince loves Krispy Creme donuts. They have a factory about 15 minutes away from me, so I love to bring him fresh donuts whenever I can.

To the "nubian goddess" and people who agree with her:
You might want to reconsider even having an interracial relationship with an AM period. You might want to also cancel out ever having children by him too...their skin might come out lighter than yours. That would kill you! Oh, and GOD FORBID!!! What about him having Asian Women in the family like mother, sister or cousins...with skin lighter than yours and naturally straight (long or short) hair!!! Oh no! We can't have that!! So you might just want to stick to those extremely dark skinned AM. You know the ones...with the smooth, dark ebony black skin...and the oh so natural kinky hair. Yea those Nubian black asian men from Korea, Japan, China, Phillipines, Vietnam,Tibet, Thailand...all of those dark jet black skinned AM...yea, you should just stick to those kinds. Then you'll be alot safer, and wont have to worry about having an interracial relationship.

I am almost certain that she is not here to talk about Asian Men. I haven't heard her address any asian men at all. Its always about (Black) females. Does she even like men? If she swings that way, that is her preference...but, why come to the AM and BW forum (men and women)...and keep obsessing so much on her love of BW? I think she has a serious color complex. Why is she constantly addressing light skinned black females? Is that what she is really on here looking for? It seems like it to me....
