WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
I haven't been on this site in a week (I had to go back home to Oakland, CA for my sister's funeral). When I got back to my current residence and on this site again, I notice a lot of hostility. I for one DO NOT tolerate disrespect, nor shallow rollers in my presence longer than a minute. From personal experience, any woman who "decides" to commit into a first night "booty call" will have to deal with the perception of Promiscuous behavior. Asian guys (like most guys) are not an exeption. If a woman shows repect to herself by not acting on the "sexual" advances, she may not be percieved as a "ho". However, A. Mack blaintanly mentioned he was only interested in one thing in a matter of a selected phase that I will not repeat. I am a very secure black woman who is very "thick" and I dress appropriately. There are many Asian guys who have appoached me with the upmost respect, like they know they are meeting a "lady". I am not rich, I have a bit of education, I hold my own with my finances, but that isn't why any Asian guy thinks "I'm good enough" to mess around with or talk to. My upbring got me to this point by a very strong, nurturing, and respectful single black mother like a lot of African Americans. I do take offense of the comments from Mr. Mack because it is an unfair ruling based on stereotyped image and not reality - and I know this. Do not over flatter yourself man, the vast majority of us black women still do not like to be involved with any other race of men, but our own. The ones who are opened minded, have a different kind of character (yes we do have others more than the limited 1. middle class, 2. lower-class (needy). If your only perception of African American women is "they are just sex toys" and nothing else, you really lead a very shallow life, and to be so "educated". I'm from the streets (I did mention Oakland), I am educated - book knowlege with street knowledge to use common sense (yeah old school baby). I know there are other asian guys who see more than an image, we got it going on honey. Yes we got hips, behind, thick thighs, and beautiful eyes, street and book smarts, and stregnth to over come the hardest debasions from in and outsiders, yet, sexy and sensitive. I don't give away my love and worth for that matter to somebody who wants to "experiment" with me - I do not have the time. Well, I said my piece, till next time I want to release - holla!
Kickin' the facts

Just wanted to share some notes as I was browsing the back-posts on this kick-ass forum:
LOL.. I started busting up when I came across SistaMoonKitty's April 30th comment: "Every Black woman who thinks that Asian men won't like her [...] has to approach at least 3 Asian men this week and start a conversation. It can be simple -- asking the time, getting for directions, complimenting them on their Palm Pilot (that one works like a charm!)"
..I ditched mine after it broke for the 3rd time. :( Still, great post. I value your anecdotes and admire your writing style.
Also, wow, major props/kudos to Indigo, her brother, and Asian Male in America... those posts resonated with world-class turbo poet intellectualism. Gimme some more of that brain candy. *Drool*
I envy the couples here who got to meet in college. I went to UCLA where my time was oh-so cleverly spent switching majors between various forms of Oppressive Bureaucracy, and minoring in Street Fighter II.
..I could kill myself, as I'm now pretty sure that I wasn't misreading a certain pretty young thing back then. F***... *slaps forehead*
And hey! -who isn't "mixed" to some degree? The closest beings that could lay claim to possessing a 'pure bloodline' as far as I know, would be single-celled bacteria. OG, baby. Original Genome.
I've gained lots of insights. I see parallels here and there and it's fascinating as hell.
Alright, I'm out. Love to the ladies. Peace to everybody.

A fool in love,
I say give this girl a chance. You expressed concern about your "fobbish" parents, ( I prefer to call them traditional) This is very important. I'm going through this with my boyfriend. It's the only conflict in our relationship. Just don't pursue a relationship with her if you know you're going to have difficulty with eventually telling your parents. It's just not fair to the girl. As far as bigots go, they're everywhere... and people you don't know shouldn't affect your relationship. And backlash from black males? That should be the least of your worries, considering they are the most likely to date interracially and in my opinion have no right to hold interracial dating in contempt. Good Luck!
Asian Male W/ An African American Wife,
It's good to hear positive stories such as yours. I wish you and your wife the best and I hope one day I'll have a marriage like yours. =)
