I don't want to get into a back-and-forth with you on this. Although I'm sure portions of the history of Venezuela/Mexico are quite similar to Cuba, the resulting population is not exactly the same. I know that there are many Mestizos in Mexico/Venezuela, but I assure you that there ARE NOT many in Cuba...no matter what your mind tells you a Mestizo should look like. The fact that you've had Mulata girlfriends also does not qualify you to be an expert on the phenotypes of mankind. Similar to having a Chinese husband does not mean that I can always tell when someone has had a Chinese great-grandparent.
My Latino family has lost a portion of its soul because we cannot accept our slave blood. You grow up hearing words like “pelo malo” or “pelo bueno.” I believe that this obsession with being a pure Spaniard is more a sign of an inferiority complex than anything else. I am hoping that we as Cubans can be just as proud of our African lineage and thereby reach a point of loving “our-whole-self.” There is a lot of healing that is needed. However, I believe the mind-set of the ones still on the island has changed a lot. I wish more for “Los Exiliados.”
Finally, although Mexico/Venezuela does not openly publicize its slave roots, the roots are more likely to be prominent in both of the societies (especially along the coastal areas) than a typical Cuban’s Indian ancestry. I have seen probably thousands of more Cubans than you probably have, so please believe me when I say…we are not Mestizos.
Anyway, I’m offering an olive branch in hope of peace. This is a topic that I do not normally like getting into (whoever said that I was YZB is not ready for Dionne Warwick’s Psychic Friends Network). Hee hee.. However, I can’t read/listen/watch something that I know is not true about Cubans without responding.

Obviously you are no psychic reader. I assure you that I am not YKB. However, if it makes you feel better about yourself, you can assume what you want. The truth is that you cannot mess with genetics. You can call yourself whatever, but you can’t change your genetic make-up. You can try to be Indian or Spanish or Ugandan or anything else that you want to be, but you cannot go back in time and change anything. If you can’t be happy with all of what you are, I question whether you can really be happy with yourself at all. So, the issue is accepting and being proud of all of yourself and telling other people to go to hell if they have a problem with it. If this makes me a moron, then so be it.
Also, I have only posted once or twice on this forum, so I am quite happy that my posts have impressed you so much. I have lived in Cuba in addition to Miami. Have you even been to Cuba? Two of my great-grandparents were Afro-Cubans and all others were more or less from Spain (although this does not eliminate things like Jewish, Gypsy or African ancestry either).
You could look at me and not see an ounce of Africa. But, I assure you that it is there. I have only mentioned that many LATINOS (specifically Cubans) are mixed with Black; more than those who are readily open to admit it or even aware of it in many cases. I have never said that every person is mixed with Black or that you are Black if you have any African ancestry. I guess you think that one lone person is setting up a conspiracy or something…doesn’t that mean that you’re a little paranoid? …and wrong!
As if you were KING (or QUEEN) of who should be ignored. You give me a chuckle! The truth is not always what you want to hear. You can ignore it, but you can’t change it. If you would like to use the “one-drop” rule, I guess you can call me Black. But, remember, you are the one calling a Latino Black this time, not me.
I will not argue with you anymore about this issue. You obviously have some personal demons to carry and a limited understanding of math, since you want to take a side that says that the Cuban population is primarily Mestizo. Considering that nearly zero percent of the Cuban population has been Indian since the Conquistadors’ arrival and at the same time up to 90% of the population has had some African ancestry…this makes NO logical sense. There are probably more people of Chinese descent in Cuba than Indian. Batista was Afro-Spanish-Chinese.
I would prefer to speak with someone who uses logic instead of absurdity.

Whoever said Venezeuleans, Chileans, Cubans were wealthy?? Ok, maybe the Cubans who came here during the 60's are pretty well off but not the recent boat people, bunch of criminals.
Castro unloaded all the scums of Cuba on our shores.
Only countries in "Latin America" which are predominately WHITE are Argentina and Uruguy. Rest of latin America are either majority mestizos or mulatos

I don't even post here much anymore. It's so sad that this debate still goes on though. I'm pretty much done with it though. Keep believing what you want, you've already PROVEN to me that MANY Latinos have "issues" with race. I mean damn ALL you guys talk about on this thread is who is and isn't Black. Don't you think its SAD you care so much. I'm waaaay past proving my point, I've been done.
Carlos, you REMAIN the ONLY Latino on this board with an ounce of sense and character...the rest are content to resort to petty insults to try and take the focus off my many points that have certainly ruffled some feathers and continue to do so long after I'm gone.

Asian males married to Latinas are more common than we think. I just went to teach at a school in back of Chinatown today and in the class of 16 there were 2 whose daddies were Asian (one Vietnamese and the other Filipino) and whose mommies were Mexican. My own step-grandmother is Mexican as well. These unions will be more and more as the Asian and Latino populations increase over time here in California.

You don't know about the lifestyles of the Latinos (actually Chicano, Mexicano, Salvadoreanos, Guatamalos, etc.). They not rich like you Venezuelans, Cubans, Argentinians, Chileans who can purchase your way into fitting in with whites. No, those former group are stuck in barrios and being sexually active is a fact of life in those neighborhoods. Actually, I think it is a remnant practice from their indigenous roots. It is not shameful if the guy is totally committed to her. OK! I must say that those "cholitos", gangbangers, low lives are really like flies trying to defile a piece of meat (innocent and confused young girls). I had to make the move on my girl so that she would belong to me. It's worked out fine for us and we have a beautiful child. We have a beautiful life and still loving my wife as the days go by (we married couple months ago after I graduated and got a job). Of course, I wouldn't ever ever allow my daughter to do something like this, but her mom made the right decision!

jaja Dont make me laught, im from VENEZUELA, believe me i know, i can see when a person has had black blood, even down the road, i have had black girlfriends as well (mulatas).
I know Cuba dont have indian persons, same here in Venezuela, the indian population is like 2% only, and thats only in the Amazonas and the guajira region mostly. But the indian blood is very well represented in all the venezuelan people, same as Cuba. If it wasnt for that, then ill be should say that im 100% european.
