WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
I had once had ill feelings towards Hispanics.
My paternal grandfather had married a Mexican woman and had 3 kids w/ her. All that time, my grandmother waited 4 decades. She finally came to U.S. in the late 1980s, a couple weeks before my grandfather died contentedly on his bed in the hospital.
I guess my grandfather had really loved the Mexican woman more than my own grandmother. In China, there were only arranged marriages at that time. And, my grandfather was a bartender and great dancer in the USA since the 1930s. He had followed his heart and not his race.
My father did not see my grandfather in USA for the first time until he was 39 years old in the early 1970s. All my grandparents are long gone and passed away now. We lost contact with the half-Mexican relatives whom my father denies their existence.
But, lately I noticed I had the same tastes as my grandfather. I can't put myself to asking these Latina women out for a date. But, I grew up around them. I know their style, their tastes. I know I can have more fun w/ them than I do w/ a Chinese girl. I have plenty of opportunities to ask out these Mexican women and I know the method to go about doing it...but should I follow my heart or my pride/race? I know my grandfather is probably smiling in his grave.

Me -- I was'nt referring to Almudena as a mestiza as you would notice that I said 'Spanish' which indicates principally she is from Spain.
It's perhaps because I don't live in the USA which the confusion arises.

Sweet Candy, is right. I was just yelling at the ABC's at the w/f-a/m forum about AM's not being confident..... I use to be afraid to pimp on a girl outside my race. till I started doing it from a dare, and the results were impressive. And guess what? <<
