Jay...the hapa:
Most Mexican-Americans marry each other. I think the number of Mexican-American men and women who marry Anglos is roughly equal. Love happens, that's life.
Question for the men here:
Why do some of you need to say such mean things about Mexican-American men? I can't believe some of the garbage
I've read. Everytime I read those comments I think of my father and brother and how hardworking, kind and successful they are.
Trashing somebody else doesn't make you look better. It makes you look desperate.

"I plan to give her the ring next month."
what about the house? aren't you going to buy a house to live in with her? i really admire you two and what she did for you. hope that some of other AM who only want latin girls for a fling come to their senses and be so lucky as you are. true love has nothing to do with money or power or looks and i'm glad that you found it and finally knows what being a man is about. pray for our AM brothers that they will too.

"Aren't alot of mexican women marrying Anglo men? My half mexican friends tell me that their mexican mothers tell them to avoid dating a mexican men/women something to do with teenage pregnancy."
Jay..the hapa who's (heard) some
Well Let me just say this to you. Word of mouth is the worst way to truly learn about a culture. Regardless of what culture that is. Your comment somewhat implies as though you are asking if this stuff is really true. Yet, at the very same time its like your just telling a bunch of negative stuff you HEARD about chicanas a and chicanos.
"HEARD" is the keyword here.
Don't generalize ALL chicanos and chicanas. I have also heard some pretty bad things about the Hapa people too. I don't believe everything I hear and I don't like to assume. And even if something does ring true with a person or 'some people', I still don't go around generalizing they must all be the same way.

Errm... I don't actually remember saying that Latinas were Black! The problem I had with your earlier post was the racist connetations in them toward Blacks!
Of course, I could have completely misinterprated that post. Maybe you are not racist at all. If that is the case, then I apologise for the misunderstanding.
However, you were very quick to critise another poster ('Don't hate on...') for making generalisations about Latinas, but then you make a comment like: "I'm getting the perception that most Chinese men are womanizers" just on the basis of a few male posters here!
That makes you a hypocrite (and let's be honest here; who has the worst 'reputation' for this so-called machismo anyway? Asians or Latinos?).
Oh, and yes I am familiar with the term 'mariachi'. So what?
'go for it'
Exactly what "other" things in relation to Black men are you referring to, Mr Expert?

My bf is from Korea. I am from Venezuela. We have been together for almost 4 years now (not counting our previous breakup)
I love him soooooooooooooo much! I love learning to cook korean food. It is so spicy and tastes very good. I have learned to speak the korean language (although some words I am still trying to get) I have already met his mama, sister and grandmother. Everyone else still lives in Korea.
He asked me to marry him 2 wks ago. I am so happy! Some people are saying to us that if he really loved me, we would have never broke up in the first place. And that its been 4 years, we should have already done this.
Oh well. In my opinion it just takes a while to really get to know someone. We had to rebuild a trust with each other.
