I don't know whether my post went through or not. My computer has been giving me trouble. I just wanted to say that I don't really know about that santaria stuff. I do know that it is somehow connected with witchcraft and voodoo or something. I would be careful from it.

I don't really know about that stuff. I think its somehow connected with witchcraft and voodoo. I'd watch out man. See the girl away from the house. But then again, what if the stuff interferes with the relationship? I'm afraid you got me on that one. I have no idea what to say!

The animals you saw? Animals are sacrifice sometimes for purify the body, marry and birthday party. This is my religion it is nothing to worry for. In my opinin.

Tell him about your true feelings. If he feels the same. Why not take some time after undergraduate school and stay few months to find out if it'll work? If you don't take a chance you'll always regret it for the rest of your life. Hey my ex wife was from Extremadura ( Caceres, now she's in Madrid.

I'm surprised that you consider Santeria as a Latina topic.However,this is usually harmless. It's a religion like Christianity, but involves more temperament and different spirits. E.g. a voodoo spirit can be disguised as a Catholic saint.If you're scared I wouldn't blame you because Santeria has its "black sheep".But you can meet occulists nearly everywhere,also in South and South East Asia,among Southern Chinese as well as among Malays and Tamils.

I know you say they are still catholics. Las Reglas de ocha de Los Lucumi is usually done in the quiet to hide Orisha behind the Catholic saint idols (virgin mary and others)
There are 400 Orisha. We learn from the Santeria that nature is sacred. Nature is an extension of ourselves.
I guess it depend really on the girl and the family. If she is an angry girl or the family is angry, they could use voodoo. Do you know if she does voodoo too? Or maybe the famiy? Some people do things connected in this along with Santeria, to use in a bad way. Voodoo can be put in the food, or in other ways. I am not try to scare you but to be honest. Santeria is not mean to practice for only communicate with spirit world. It is also many other things too. Soomeone else sees this religion and may feel afraid.

I just came back from Andalucia. It is so beautiful as always there. I have missed it so much. I am planning to move back home after I finish with school. My family is very wealthy but I want to make my own education. There is a man I have been speaking with in between classes. He is a hardwork asian man. His family is not wealthy. He makes his own way and I admire that. We have started to really find out about each other. I feel fond of him. He knows that I am going back home to live.

I am dating one Mexican chick who does not have a green card. She is what you call an "illegal alien."

I really love this girl. If the time comes for marriage, would we be able to legally marry without any harassment from the US authorities? Would they not deport her? If she does get deported, I will go with her, wherever that may be.

Do any of you know the Santeria religion and what it's all about?

I know this Mexican girl who along with her sister and mom lives at their uncle's home. They told me that their uncle converted to some Cuban religion. But, they themselves are Catholics.

When I went into their home, it looked very clean and well-kept. But, it was those strange objects and figures that bothered me.

I saw big African-like heads in one corner. Stuffed animals with mouse-traps in another corner. A big doll with playing cards in her hands at another corner.

I don't like to admit it, but the place gave me the creeps deep inside. I have a suspicion that it is some sorcery going on. But I really like one of the girls as she was the one who invited me over to talk. When we talked she knew I was making eye contact and when I left, I just loved the way she looked at me and said bye.

I don't know if I should call her again, as I don't know very much about these religions? The girl is sweet and it doesn't seem like she is part of this cult of her uncle.
