Kiko,
Morenitas is dark hair, brown skin.

Kiko,
You asked Juana 'what is morenita?'
Morenas are dark hair and ( it can be medium,tan/or brownish skin) -not too dark skin. Salma Hayek is morenita. Jessica Alba in "Dark Angel" she is also. It means like 'brunett' features. dark hair, dark eyes, and kinda tanned color skin.
I notice some people get it confused and say that it means a mixed person or something. Mestizaje means mixed, not morena.

I have even heard with my own ears, some black people say that it means 'black people'. Thats NOT true.

Chuck,

H. Ngo and another new yorker is right.

Who gives a care about such stats? Actually I heard the latest stats in California to say that Asian-Latino intermarriages has now grown to 7% of the intermarriage totals.

Hey, even if no Latina is married to an Asian man in my state, it will not disuade me from approaching one. I would love to be the first to do it.

Hey, even if I am in an environ where most Puerto Rican or Mexican chicks are only after the black guys, I still would not be disheartened. If I like these girls, there is always one enough for you.

You just need to get off the figures and start adding yourself to the real total.

Go look for your latina dream girl and stop only dreaming about it!

We should not play the numbers game    Tuesday, July 09, 2002 at 23:46:51 (PDT)
Chuck,

I appreciate your posting the statistics. Apparently AM-LF couples are few and far between even in California.

I live in Houston, and I can count in one hand the number of AM/LF couples I've seen in the last 6 years. Nonetheless, judging by the posts on this board, they work out fine.

Personally, I think Latin women are more attractive than white women. They have more warmth and passion. They are more comfortable with their femininity than white counter-parts. You could tell the difference when you watch Spanish telenovelas, etc.

Its very seldom that you see hispanics with asians or asians with another race (with the exception of caucasians in some parts of the country). Especially with the asian males. Its not racism to be not attracted to a race, its all subjective. Just like some african americans detest chinese food while some crave it. It goes for same with relationships. Being an asian male, I've have gotten many flattering looks from all races except maybe desi and arabic. What can you say? I am pretty cute ;). However, times are changing and many people are becoming more and more open minded. Race, pending on the person, will play a significant role or a minute one. On the subject of hispanics and asians, I haven't seen a relationship between the two races (I live in a pretty diverse area, near Washington DC). I think its due to the BIG cultural gaps. Different fashions, differents tastes, etc. However, love is love and you cannot control it. I hope before I marry, I can get a taste of every culture so I won't regret what I would've missed out on.

PS, I know this girl who is cuban and 1/4 chinese and she is probably one of the most beautiful girls I've seen. I must say that multi racial kids are beautiful. Black and asian makes a pretty attractive baby, trust me! I've seen them.

rosa,

I hear empathisize with your story about your aunts and cousin tracking dirt everywhere all over the house. I know it must be frustrating, because of the act and the attitudes towards how you and your husband do things. It's a bit hilarious though, the image of defiance and total disregard of sommeone else's rules/beliefs. The "They are taking the chinese thing way too far?" comment is especially a gem! How far would they like it to be taken? How far can one take being who they are? How far should: black be black, white be white, Asian be Asian, Latino be Latino, etc. ; can anyone be?
My answer, as long as you so desire and as long as it is being you and not giving off anything that negatively reflects upon you? I'm still trying to figure how far I wanna take my Chinese-ness to. (Anything less than 90% is not an 'A', oh no!)

Seeing it from a brighter side,

You are so right on! I hear the exact same things everywhere I go about the positive attitude that Latino parents have about Asian males. And yes, all that is left if for the lady to find and love that asian guy.

AM are sooo fine,

The guy who played Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat is Robin Shou. I met him before when I was working for a movie theater in Pasadena. He's actually taller than I imagined. Seemingly about 6' tall or more. And built really well. I forget what movie he came to see, but he was with his wife or gf. --A blonde j.i.c anyone wanted to know.
