This gorgeous Chinese Man came into the gallery yesterday. He was goodlooking. I was trying not to make eye contact. I wanted to so bad, but I was way too shy as usual, when it comes to men! If I keep this up I will never have a boyfriend! So I mustered up the nerve and I finally asked him if he needed any help. He told me he was just looking around. Then he asked me if I did the acryllic 'Symbiosis' because he really liked it. I felt my cheeks turning bright red! He told me that my cheeks were red and we both laughed. We got on the subject of painting. I found out hes an artist too. It was so neat! It was like love at first sight!
We are supposed to meet at the Twice Told Coffee House for lunch. I am nervous. I have to leave in 4 days to go to Texas. This sux!!!
I meet him right when I have to leave for 2 weeks!

You are so right. Morena/Moreno absolutely does not mean 'black people'.
It is brunette features on person.
The word "Prieta" is the word for black people. Some say its kinda derogatory or whatever. Its not really. I think its just some people don't want to be associated with that term. They would rather be seen as triguena or morena.
I guess I take after both my parents. I have very light skin like my father, and I have his little bitty nose and sorta slantedlike dark brown eyes.
I have had some people call my eyes
"chinito eyes"
whatever. In NewYork Puerto Rican people call them a particular name...Some people might take some offense to it, so I am gonna be polite and not repeat it. But its 'supposedly' the same thing. It just sounds a little cRude.
I inherited my moms full lips.
I used to hate them when I was a teenager. But now some women are trying to get lip injections and stuff. Its kinda funny lol! I have my mother's height too, we are both 5'3" and small frame. My mom's family is short. My dad's family is tall.
And my hair is crazy weird too. Its always a nice thick wavy texture. But as soon as the humidity sets in it gets curly! Some people in my family always tell me to cut it off, but I think long ringlets look pretty kool

I'm back and forth from PR and to the states. I'll be back in NYC really soon. Can't wait!
I never thought I'd miss the place. I actually miss the loud and noisy chaos. Can you believe it? I must be losing it! lol
The only chaos here is the coqui! All over the windows outside! At night thats all I ever hear! Its driving me nuts! I called my friend who lives in Brooklyn (shes never been here before) she kept asking me if I had a pet bird in my house or something! I was like,"No! Its the damn coqui!"

Based on the stats that Chuck gave us, we see that in California, one in three Asian guys who intermarry are doing it with Latina women. (6.6% with white women and 2.6% with Latina women).
This is a big increase compared to 2 decades ago. It occurs mostly in suburban neighborhoods where Asians and Latinos live together.
I know that from similar stats (US Census, 1980), the third most popular spouses for Chinese American men are Mexican women. The first one are Anglos and second are Japanese. Even back then, a quarter of all Chinese-Americans in the USA intermarried with non-Chinese spouses.
I also heard that Asian male and Latina female marriages have higher success and maintenance rates compared to Asian male/White female intermarriages. I wonder why?

it's funny how everyone always says interracial kids are beautiful to justify IR relationships. physically beautiful people were just really lucky in the genes departments. like some of you, i have seen some disturbing pictures of people (no matter what race, ethnicity) but it's the beautiful ones that stand out in your mind.
the media doesn't help either since they will present you with the best looking people and then we, as a society, all assume that the celebrity represents the whole race. pretty naive i think, but it sells magazines and the particulary race is "proud."
i have seen some beautiful latina (girl next door type) women that will blow away any regular models. similarly, i met a vietnamese girl w/ a sweet southern accent that would make you drool, she was that hot!
my point you ask? women are BEAUTIFUL. Period!!! thank god they are into us guys, cause i don't see any redeeming qualities in the male species :) i am just kidding!!! no flames please :)
so if you find someone that catches your eye, give it a shot. it may be/ will be more difficult than a regular (same race) relationship, but this well test your love, integrity, nad compatibility. if your love is truly genuine and you're happy w/ your sig. other, people will come around and eventually change their views. if they don't, their lose. good luck and keeping smiling. :)
