WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
oh yeah, I forgot to add that you still need to stick up for yourself because if you don't they will continue to pick on you and it only seems to get worse. Make sure you speak up early, for yourself, and for those (too young)who can't for themselves.
don't let your kids think/believe that it's wrong to stand up against jerks who pick on them. I don't mean senseless beating them to death of course, just enough to let them know you aren't stupid enough to let them keep up their stupid games.

I agree with "sick & tired" --it's true that nobody seems to care when Asians are picked on, but if/when you fight back, the school suddenly becomes all concerned over "violence". HA! this happened to me in school when I was young --and I'm a girl!! jerks.

In reaction to sick and tired of the homo stereotypes of AM:
I'm not trying to get on anyone's bad side, but the reason why many people think there are a lot of homosexual Asian men is because of what they see on the internet. I mean, you can type in Asian men, and you'll see homosexual Asian men naked and in very conpromising positions. Even when you type in heterosexual Asian men, you will still see, naked, gay Asian men. It irritates me, because I'm just looking to find some websites that might have some interesting facts about Asian men, or try to find some famous Asian actors, singers, models (with clothes), or just want to find a really good picture of an Asian man to show a friend that Asian men are just incredibly sexy. I don't know the names of a lot of Asian male actors, other than the most obvious ones, and I don't know any Asian singers or models. I think it's a real shame that I can't go online and find something really great on Asian men without pulling up porno. About the other issue ... of Asian men being "too masculine" .... Well, I certainly don't have a problem with a man being firm, regardless of race. I certainly wouldn't have described an Asian man that is firm as being some kind of kungfu master. That never crossed my mind. My reaction to ANY man being masculine/firm (and I don't mean just his body, but in actions and thoughts), I think that's great, especially if he has a sensitve side too. I hope I haven't confused anyone, or stepped on anyone's toes. Anyway, that's just my two cents. I have to go study. Everyone take care

Isn't it interesting how we are depicted and stereotyped? Here's the truth of the matter. Asian males tend to be less often homosexual than non-Asian males based on the fact that there are significantly fewer cases of HIV infection among AAM's than any other ethnic group. Arthur Hu has some interesting other data on the subject at:
http://www.leconsulting.com/arthurhu/index/aaids.htm
Such as this excerpt:
"When broken down by transmission factor, the only causes where Asians are at or near parity with whites (in Aids contraction)are hemophiliacs and blood transfusions, and the least are
gay and drug users. That means when culture is not involved, Asians are just as likely to get AIDS. Most tests of gay men show Asians to be just as HIV positive as
other gay men. When you solve the paradox of Asian men having just as much AIDS, but few AIDS cases overall, it basically means there are few Asian gay men!.
Summary - for almost every cause, for every sub-ethnic group, in every city, state, county, nationally, and internationally, Asians have the lowest rate of AIDS of any
racial group from a factor of 3 nationally to 20 in San Francisco. This has almost never been reported. Even less reported is that rates for Native Americans is also
much lower than for whites. Despite this, headlines proclaim that Asia is the #1 danger area for AIDS, and there are articles that say that Asian women are especially
at risk for AIDS even though they are at the LOWEST risk for any race / gender group."
Once again, our "friends" in the media like to depict us as more often gay in movies and on television, but the truth is the opposite. Any doubt as to who our enemy is?

On TV, the only Asian Indians you see are running the convenience stores.
And some other Asians have this stupid idea that Indians, because they lack the facial features of Chinese/Koreans/Vietnamese et al, are not "true" Asians.
I really hate it when I'm in an Asian American student organization and people assume that I'm some sort of shallow wannabe "egg" as in white on the outside and yellow in the middle. (I'm half Asian Indian and half Greek, but I look more Mediterranean than anything else) Welcome to the 21st century! I have just as much a right to call myself Asian-American as any Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese/Filipino person!

Most Americans seem to be completely unable to see Asians as individuals instead of stereotypes. Not only that, but the great majority are almost completely and horribly ignorant of real Asian culture and peoples.

I don't know if it's only me, but I have noticed a lot of non-Asians have this perception that there is an over-abundance of gay men and homosexuals among the Asian-American male populace? They like to conjure up images of the weak, small, skinny, petite, scrawny, white skinned, hairless, soft-voiced, effeminate Asian male? What's up with that? And, then when the Asian man is too masculine for them to handle, they label him as a kungfu master, a Fu Manchu villain and what have you? Sad thing is a lot of our Asian sisters and even Asian brothers buy into it.
Last week, when my little brother in a white private Christian school beat up a couple bullies who were making fun of him and the other Chinese kids at school, the f***in principal, she passed out fliers and planned an orientation event on the need to stop gang violence and school fights. I raised the issue with her that the Asian kids have always been bullied and now she makes a fuss over it when my bro just was taking matters into his own hand where the school didn't give a sh.it at first until now! My parents got all over me for it, and I told them my bro might have it better at the public schools where dialogue between various ethnicities at school fights are common. Who is right here? I only want a right mental health for our younger generation of Asian American males. I will continue to advocate school violence for Asian boys at school when it is not violence at all, especially when they are bullied due to race. It is what I call intelligence--><--, right? peace. One time, I was picking up my brother and I overheard 2 white kids making fun of another Asian boy (don't know if he was Korean, Viet or whatever?) on the playground afterschool. So, I stopped and took that Asian boy to one side and grabbed the racist white boy to another side. I was a grown up adult, so they got scared. I yelled at them to fight each other if there really was so much hate. The white boy started crying and said he would tell his mommy and the principal on me. I lightly smacked his head and told him to shut up. Then I got both the little Asian boy's hands and made some mocking kungfu moves at the white boy. White boy was still crying, and then the Asian boy went over and kicked him couple times before running off. I cracked up the whole day. Felt good about it. Remember, no justice, no peace!
I love you white people! I don't want to see nobody cry, man! Allright? You know what I am saying?

Someone tell me please what the hell is it with asian girls and cell phones. Every damn time I try to check out an asian babe, she's likely to be yaking on a damn cell phone. It looks like they are trying to "western up" and it makes my liver throw up everytime I see some otherwise lovely babe looking like a fraud. What's so damn important that can't wait till you get to your home phone. Damn, I hate to see phony lookin Asian babes, maybe I just like unassuming women huh ?
