Designer Lie Sang Bong brought a breath of fresh air to Paris with his Spring Summer 2010 ready-to-wear collection Thursday. Lie used unconventional drapes mostly in shades of white and cream to advance an other-worldly elegance that challenged the symmetry held sacred by top European designers.
Lie Sang Bong is one of Korea’s leading designers but has been based in Paris since 2002. Lie’s designs are favored by Korean actresses and first ladies. More recently they have been seen on Beyoncé, Lindsay Lohan and Dido. Lie has been selected official cultural ambassador to Seoul which has been designated “World Design Capital”.
