Michelle Lee Is a Pianist-Turned-90210 Surgeon
By Kelli Luu | 17 Dec, 2025
One star of E!’s Dr. 90210 tickled classical ivory worldwide decades before touching surgical scalpels.
Not everyone’s plastic surgeon is a TV personality with professional classical piano skills, but if your doctor is Michelle Lee, you’re in the hands of someone with true talent.
Michelle Lee was born and raised in Shanghai before moving to San Diego with her parents when she was nine years old. Before she was an expert in facial aesthetics, Lee was a classical pianist with a number of symphonies. While she was a student at UCLA studying classical piano and English literature, she was also traveling across the world performing in a piano performance series.
After graduating from UCLA in 2005, she enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania and even received a Merit Scholarship, allowing her to earn her Doctor of Medicine. Lee’s next chapter took place at Case Western Reserve University and Harvard University where she completed her plastic surgery residency and aesthetic surgery fellowship. Lee worked as a plastic surgery resident at Case Western before joining the DuPage Medical Group in 2016 as a plastic surgeon with intense knowledge of rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation.
In 2019 Lee founded PERK Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, California, focusing on natural and refined results for her clients. Her office received national attention in 2020 when Lee was a part of the revival of E!’s reality TV show Dr. 90210.
With a background rooted in discipline, performance, and creativity, Dr. Michelle Lee makes it clear that she approaches plastic surgery as both a science and an art, helping her clients feel like the best version of themselves.
